Rye

"Keep pinching your nose Ryan!" Jack called as he ran out of the bathroom to find some more tissues.

Yeah, we'd exhausted the limited supply of loo roll already.

"I am babe!" I shouted back, keeping my head tilted forwards over the sink. I don't fancy swallowing mouthfuls of blood today. That would just be disgusting.

It really sucked, having these nosebleeds.

I had been chilling in my room, watching something on my laptop when it started. I'd moved my hand beneath my nose to stop the blood dripping onto the floor, but spots still managed to spill over. It was heavier than normal as well, the thin stream of blood getting thicker and thicker with each passing second.
Jack came in my room just as I'd stood up and his eyes widened when he saw the amount of blood.

And now here we were. My boyfriend freaking out like he usually did, whilst I tried to calm him down. But it was difficult when you had blood heavily flowing through both of your nostrils.

Jack ran back into my bathroom with another roll of toilet paper, and I sighed when I saw how badly his hands were trembling.

"Jack, babe... I'm fine. It's just a nosebleed yeah?" I breathed through my mouth slowly and evenly, leaning over the sink whilst I kept a firm grasp on the soft part of the top of my nose. Usually by now, it would be starting to slow.

Not today however.

"It still doesn't mean I'm overly happy about it Rye!" He snapped back as he tore pieces of tissue off for me. I took it from his hand with a nod of gratitude, before holding it to my nostrils. The only problem was that blood was coming from both nostrils still, and still quite heavily. Within seconds the tissue was sopping with blood.

"I'm gonna need another tissue Jackie." I leant further over the sink and coughed harshly, nearly gagging when I brought up a small amount of blood that had flowed down the back of my throat.
Yeah, not fun.

"Okay, okay... here... just take it. I'll keep tearing pieces off and leaving it on the side and then you can grab them as you need them." Jack decided, and I breathed through my mouth again.

"Sounds good." I replied as I pinched my nose even tighter, wincing when it began to ache.

But soon we exhausted that toilet roll aswell. I tried to stay calm, but I felt uneasy. They had never lasted this long before, and still with such velocity. This had to be going for about ten minutes now.

"Rye... what do we do? Isn't it supposed to have stopped by now?" Jack asked loudly from beside me, and I could see his hands shaking in the mirror. Hell, his whole body was trembling. There was fear in his voice, and I knew that I had to keep myself together.

"It'll stop eventually babe... no need to panic." I tried to reassure myself too, but I don't think that it really worked.
If anyone were to walk into the bathroom it would look like a crime scene; blood everywhere, bloody tissues littering the floor and the sink, filling the bin...
Everywhere was red.

"You're so pale though! You've lost loads of blood... should we call an ambulance?" Jack kept panicking. I wanted so badly just to pull him into my arms and hold him steady, as I would've done on any other occasion.
I kind of couldn't right now.

"Listen to me Jack. It'll stop in a bit yeah? This has happened before." I tried to reason with him, and myself.

"But not for this long though! That's it, I'm telling the boys." Jack then fled my bathroom, and I could hear the quiver to his voice, but he was determined.
