Mikey
'Are you doing anything today?'
'No, why?' Jack asked.
I sighed.
'I just need to get out,' I said quietly. Crossed my arms across my chest.
Immediately, Jack put his phone down and climbed to his feet, frown on his face. Worry in his eyes.
'What do you mean love?'
He laid a hand on my arm, and the other stroked my cheek. I sighed again.
'Can we go out today? Like, I dunno...' I trailed off. Closed my eyes at how stupid I was being.
Why didn't I just amuse myself, instead of getting Jack involved with all of this? I was sure he was getting tired of me every day.
It wouldn't surprise me if he broke up with me soon. I was almost expecting it
'Yeah, yeah. I'll be downstairs in five minutes,' Jack said before he pecked my lips.
I nodded. 'Okay. I'll wait downstairs for you... thanks Jackie,' I said.
'Chin up, Mike,' Jack called softly as I left his room.
I smiled a little, but not much. Enough for me to hesitate, but not enough to make me stay. I walked down the stairs slowly, and shoved my feet into the first pair of shoes I could find. Enclosed myself in my jacket. Lost in thought.
Arms wrapped around my waist and I jumped, not having heard anyone come up behind me.
I heard a laugh. 'It's me, Mike.'
'Sorry, I was lost in thought,' I whispered.
Jack kissed the side of my head before he stepped away. Grabbed my hand.
'Come on, let's go on an adventure,' he smiled.
I squeezed his hand and let him drag me.

We walked hand in hand for the most part, our joined hands stuffed into my pocket because of how bitterly cold the air had gone. It was good though, breathing in cold air, instead of the stale air from being stuck in my bedroom all day. It opened my eyes. Rushed energy through me. Revitalised me.
As for Jack? He had the biggest smile on his face, content with going any direction.
To start with, he led the way, dragged me down alleys. Lanes and trails. Through fields of sheep grazing, like ambling snowballs.
And then I started to tug him in different directions, all of which he was content with me doing. It perked me up a little. The wind through my hair. Cold air burning the tip of my nose.
It was silent, that whole time. Silent communication through hand gestures, or just a fleeting meeting of the eyes.
Until I felt the need to speak up, considering, well, I had dragged my boyfriend into the cold with no feasible explanation.
'Hey, Jack? Thanks for coming out with me... I know I've been irritating you by bothering you all the time-'
'-enough of that Mike. You know I like you talking to me about this stuff. Otherwise, how am I meant to help you? I'm your boyfriend, and I will gladly help you for the rest of our lives,' he interrupted before I could ramble.
Jack stopped walking and looked me in the eye. His were set and sure, but also soft when he saw the unease in me.
'But-' I tried.
'-I love you, Mikey. I love you. Nothing, absolutely nothing, is ever going to jeopardise that fact,' he said.
He pulled me in for a hug, tenderly wrapped his arms around me. And then he kissed me, soft but sweet. Constantly going back for more. Tiny pecks. It was addictive, the way his lips felt against mine. The way they moved against mine.
'Jackie, your nose is freezing,' I mumbled against his lips with a little laugh.
'Yeah, well, it's cold.'
He tucked his face into my shoulder, while I hid mine in the crook of his neck. He giggled.
'Mike, your face is so cold.'
'I'm trying to warm up. Shut up.' Jack's coat muffled my voice, but he laughed anyway.
'You're cute. And adorable,' he said.
'Oh my God stop.'
I felt a blush on my cheeks right away. I'd never been one for taking compliments on the head. Instead, I always got embarrassed and looked to the nearest exit.
I felt that way with Jack, my boyfriend, only I didn't feel the need to run away from him.
And Jack did stop. We hugged each other tight in the middle of a deserted pathway, while the wind battled it out around us. A raging tornado of destruction. But in Jack's arms, none of that mattered.
It was at that point that I felt myself truly relax, for the first time that entire day. I felt Jack nuzzle his face. The wind died down a bit.
'Are you feeling better?' he asked quietly.
I pressed my lips to his neck. 'Yeah. Yeah, loads better Jackie,' I said.
'That's good. I'm glad I could help,' he said as he pulled away to look at me. Smiled.
'I'm just sorry that I dragged you all the way out here-'
'-what did I say earlier? I want to help you... I like helping you. I like knowing that I can make you happy.'
'Okay,' I said softly.
'Come here Mike,' he offered with a teasing smile. I sank into his side, and we started to walk back home.
Although we were unsure of which way we'd come.

Oof this was terrible. I'm sorry :(
