Jack

"Mikey?"

I watched in dread as his whole body locked up, rigid, his eyes slowly rolling upwards. By the time I'd taken three steps closer to my boyfriend he was already falling, and I lunged to catch him before he hit the floor. I ended up collapsing with a pained grunt under the dead weight of Mikey, but at least he hadn't hurt himself.

"Andy! Wake up! Andy!" I shouted loudly.

All the other boys were asleep, and Mikey and I had been in the middle of making breakfast. Gently I rolled Mikey's body off of me, already working to turn him on his side. My hands hook something terrible, and the familiar helplessness crushed my heart as it pumped into my body.

Then his body started convulsing, just as I knew it would.
Right... Mikey had five minutes before I called an ambulance. I counted away the seconds in the back of my mind.

I held my hands on his side, but didn't make any attempts to hold him down.
That was rule number one, I'd learned. Don't ever hold the victim down.
Rule number two, keep away any sharp objects.
I frantically looked around the kitchen floor, slightly breathless, but my eyes found nothing.

"C'mon Mikey... you're alright... I'm right here baby. I'm right here." I spoke to him softly.

"Andy!" I yelled seconds later.

"What's going on?" Came the muffled reply from across the room.

"I need you to watch the clock for me... Mikey's having a seizure! I can't do it all by myself Fovvs." I spoke quickly, not taking my eyes off of Mikey, still going by the mental clock I had fixed in my brain.
I heard Andy curse, and the covers on his bed were thrown around as he scrambled from his bed.

I knew that his eyes would be wide, scared, as that was routine whenever Mikey had a seizure, but I knew he was the most level headed one out of all of us.

"Andy. I need you to watch the clock. If it goes passed 8:22 I need you to call an ambulance. Can you do that for me?" I looked up from my boyfriend for a split second, to catch Andy's gaze. Like I'd thought, the fear was in his eyes, and he was pale, but there was the determined set to his jaw that I recognised.

"Yep. Shall I call out every thirty seconds like Rye did last time?" He asked in a level voice, already starting a timer on his phone. I pondered for a second.

Last time it had just been me and Rye when Mikey had started convulsing, both Andy and Brook having left for the gym. Rye had called out every time thirty seconds had passed, and it had made me feel a bit better. I don't know what it was, but it had helped take the edge off the silence.

"If you wouldn't mind." I breathed out harshly, reaching to the sofa to grab a pillow, and sliding it beneath Mikey's head. His whole body was still convulsing wildly, and I swallowed my panic. He'd be fine.

Rule number three, cushion their head.

Rule number four, keep other people backed away from the victim.

Andy was sat on the edge of the sofa, eyes glued to his phone as he watched the timer.
Rye and Brook were both still asleep for the minute, and hopefully they'd stay that way until Mikey's seizure ended.

"You're alright Mikey... Andy and I are both with you." I said. His body was so tense, and I could feel his muscles quivering and shaking beneath my hands. I moved one of my hands and started playing with his hair, gently and carefully because he was moving around so much, because I knew it always calmed him down.
