Mikey

I'd been editing all day, and all I could hear out of my left ear was some annoying dull buzz, and on top of that, it was way warmer and more irritated than usual. I hissed softly when I slid my headphones off of my head, bringing my hand up to my ear straight away.
I sighed heavily.

Yep, definitely warmer.

I gently placed my laptop and headphones on the floor, and stood up to go and get a drink, but I stopped suddenly when my head began to ring. My vision blurred for the total of about one second, and I blinked hard, screwing my eyes shut in an attempt to remove the blurriness.

"Mike? Are you alright?" Andy looked right at me... I hadn't even noticed him moving from his bed. So far he didn't seem too worried, but I could see it hiding, lingering, behind his eyes. Like it always did whenever one of us wasn't feeling great.

"Yeah." I paused to yawn, stretching in the meantime. "Yeah I'm just getting a drink." I yawned again. I hadn't noticed how tired I was.

I guess that's what you got for sitting on your arse all day on the computer.

Andy seemed to accept my answer, however I knew he'd be keeping a close eye on me until he knew that I perfectly alright. I sighed again.

The ringing seemed to stop after I'd had a full glass of water, and a few slices of toast. Contented for the moment, I continued on editing, trying to hide the hiss that wanted to escape my lips. Although the ringing had subsided, the hotness and irritation to my ear was still very much present.
Either way I couldn't complain. This vlog was going out tonight, and I couldn't afford to stop editing now. I had been going for about... I don't even remember when I started editing this vlog. I'd started another one and finished it before, and then I realised that I'd edited the wrong one.

If I'd just used my brain I could be sleeping right now. Instead, it looked like I'd be editing till at least five or six in the evening.

This vlog would undoubtedly be late. But it's alright, because I guess the Roadies expect it from us by now.

I yawned again as I got comfortable, my eyes watering with tiredness.

I ignored the pain for the next thirty minutes, but even I couldn't hold back my groans when the dull pain developed slowly and steadily into a constant sharp pain that resonated from my left ear.
I slid my headphones off gently, hissing when they irritated my ear even more. It still felt way too hot. I rubbed my ear, but it only made the pain and discomfort sharper. Tears sprung to my eyes and I closed them.

I guess I must've zoned out at some point, because suddenly when I came to my head felt all fuzzy, and the pain, if you could believe it, had evolved further into a constant, heavy throb. I couldn't really hear out of that ear now, so at first I didn't hear Andy calling my name.

"Mikey?" I heard through the fog and the pounding. I sat up quickly... when had I slumped down? I groaned when I felt my neck and back twinge.
Great.
Just great.

"Yep?" I whispered, my hand still rubbing my neck.

"What's up?"

When I opened my eyes again Andy was sat at the foot of my bed, the worry and concern from before shining in his eyes.
