This was a request from BritishRoadiex, so thank you very much... I hope you enjoy! I'll admit I changed it slightly to fit the story, but I hope you like it anyway.

Brooklyn

I really didn't know what I was doing anymore. Like, in anything.

I felt weird, and not really with it. The hate comments didn't make this any easier for me either, seeing as I was dealing with that, on top of working out what I was trying to achieve in life.
If anything, those hate comments tightened the bag that seemed to be pressed tightly over my mouth.
Those hate comments rendered me breathless nearly every day, and I worked hard to not show this to the boys. They would only worry, and I hated them to be worried about me...

They had their own problems to deal with.
And I had mine.

I managed to keep it quiet for a few weeks, but I couldn't really tell.
Each and every hour blurred into one, each second dragging itself along the floor simultaneously.
Needless to say, I wasn't keeping track of time as I should be. As I normally would have done.

My stomach growled, and I couldn't remember the last time I had eaten. I curled up under my covers, pulling them far above my head when I heard a knock on my bedroom door.

That was the only good thing. We had our own rooms now, and that meant that I could cry at night without anyone seeing, or hearing.
It gave me the chance to have time to myself, in my own space, make my space my own. Personalise it.
Only I hadn't been doing that.
Instead spending far too long reading comment after comment, not even noticing the tears steadily rolling down my cheeks until I felt my t-shirt was damp.

"Brooklyn? We're going to the shop... Are you coming?" Mikey said loudly, and I heard my door open with a creak.
I made sure the covers were pulled tightly over my head. That way he couldn't see me.

"No, I'm gonna stay here Mike." I said back.

"If you're sure... Is there anything you want us to grab for you?"

A saviour. A knight in shining armour. Someone to notice. Someone to hold me as I cried.

But I didn't voice any of this out loud.

"Not that I can think of. Thanks though." I replied, hoping beyond measure that Mikey just left. It would make his life easier, not having to be burdened with my petty worries.

The other good thing about having our own rooms? I didn't see the boys as much, didn't see their happy faces, their unburdened faces. And they didn't see mine.
Which I was thankful for. I couldn't remember the last time I had looked one of the boys in the eye, let alone got out of bed. Ate. Drank. Washed. Showered.

"Alright, we'll be about an hour."

Mikey shut the door then, and I exhaled heavily, the hot air hitting me right in the face, my duvet not doing a great job of letting air out. But I guess that was the point of them, to keep the air in, so you didn't get cold.
Despite this, I shivered violently when my phone flashed, telling me I had a notification. The room was dark, because I hadn't bothered opening the curtains for God knows how long, so the flash seemingly lit up the whole room, even though the covers were pulled tightly over my head.

I yanked my phone beneath the covers, the light as I unlocked it blinding me momentarily. I blinked a few times, rubbing my eyes as they watered from exposure.

Another twitter notification. Another Instagram post.

Should I take a look? Probably not...
I did anyway.
