Act 16: "For nee-san!"

Shira loved her brother.

She loved him more than anything 

That was why she asked herself, why am I still fighting for the village that hated my brother so much?

Was she trying to make this place a place they could call home?

She always told herself that all she needed was Naruto and no one else.

Especially not this village.

Naruto was her everything.

Neither twins knew about their parents personally but Shira knew they also loved this village just like how Naruto loved this place.

She didn't understand.

She tried but she just couldn't.

There was nothing to gain by feeling affectionate towards the Leaf

Naruto wanted attention.

He didn't need their like, right?

But as his sister, she would support his goals.

He gained a reputation of being the village's knucklehead.

It wasn't a good reputation but he was getting what he wanted.

She couldn't get rid of what made him happy.

Life was harsh, she knew that.

But couldn't they treat her like they treat her brother?

Couldn't their unfair treatment be directed towards her instead of her twin?

Instead of giving him all that misery, why not her?

Why not let Shira take all the brunt and suffer instead?

Why her little brother?

She didn't want to see his smile disappear.

Her little brother meant everything to her.

And she'd do everything for him.

So, why?

Why was she protecting this village on her own accord?

She didn't understand.

She didn't want to understand.

She didn't want—need— to acknowledge that feeling.

Because as far as she was aware right now, she protected the village her brother loved so much.

Haku froze the sand before it reached Shira and Sasuke. He was amazed. Naruto grew so much in strength from the short time he was gone. The great toad towered over him and the trees, reaching  nearly Shukaku's height. The One Tailed Beast had completely awakened as soon as Naruto managed to summon Gamabunta.

For the meantime, Haku managed to protect his friends from stray attacks from the toad and the One Tailed but he knew he wouldn't last any longer if this kept up. He could only freeze and conjure ice so much. He trembled when the Tailed Beast flared his chakra and quickly grabbed half of Team Seven, bringing them further in the forest.
