|38| - Jeon has his own ways

It was Saturday, a day when Ellie loved to sleep for a bit longer and would extremely appreciate it, mainly today since she came home later than usual yesterday.

But Jeongguk didn't let her have such pleasure. He came to her room early in the morning, it was still a bit dark outside, and threw a jacket at her. She groaned, still more asleep than awake until he grabbed her sheets and pulled it away from her, throwing it somewhere on the floor.

She immediately sat up, looking at the boy with a face of disbelief. She knew cursing him for not knocking before entering would have no point right now, or ever.

"Go get ready, we're leaving," Jeongguk ordered.

She studied his expression, he didn't seem mad but not in the mood either. But honestly, was Jeon Jeongguk ever in the mood?

"Are you gonna help me?" she questioned, still not leaving her bed.

"Yes, I told you we're starting today. Wear something warm," he said bossily and threw his jacket over his shoulders, walking out of Ellie's room.

"Where are we going?" Ellie asked after walking down the stairs and meeting Jeongguk near the entrance door.

"No questions. Spare your breath, you'll need it," he snickered at her.

They walked out of the building where everyone was still asleep at this hour. Their house was far from the town at the edge of the forest in a very peaceful area. No one lived at least 15 kilometres from them and even if someone did, they wouldn't know about this place because of how well hidden it was.

Ellie felt safe here, and surely much calmer than in the centre of the rushed town.

She watched the nature around her when she realised Jeongguk was no longer next to her and was already around 50 metres away from her. She saw him running into the forest, the material of his hoodie blowing in the wind.

She was alarmed and immediately started running after him, right into the forest she's never been to before. This would probably be the best opportunity to kill her if he still wanted. She hoped they were over that stage.

When she reached him and was able to run at a stable speed, he smiled slightly, hiding it by looking at the road underneath them. They were running by each other's side, making their way into the deep forest where barely any light got in.

The road wasn't hard, it was mostly small stones buried in a dark sand. The forest animals were slowly waking up, the singing of the birds could be heard from the high crowns of the trees.

Jeongguk looked to his left, watching his company. He knew she still wasn't very happy about this activity. And he was sure it will take some time, but she was born for this. Not just a simple running, she was born to be who she was about to become.

The run was nice, but running with Jeongguk wasn't for her just yet.

Ellie came home 2 minutes after Jeongguk since he said he won't pause for her to catch her breath and that she was good enough to run all the way back without pausing but she didn't want to pressure it too much. And she was sure he wouldn't let her in the middle of the forest alone, where any animal could eat her alive.

Or maybe not that sure, because as soon as she stopped and kneeled down to relax her trembling muscles, Jeongguk was nowhere to be found.

"That fucker," she cursed under her breath and rolled her eyes but began running again.

So she ran all the way back home and found Jeongguk already chilling on the couch next to Jimin and Taehyung, legs on the table until Jin kicked him to get shower before he puts the whole house into quarantine.

"Woah, he took you running with him?" Jin asked in a surprise after seeing Ellie appear in the living room as well.

"Yeah..." she mumbled and went upstairs to shower as well, ignoring the very shocked expression on Jin's face.

Later that day...when Ellie definitely wasn't trying to sneak out:

"Where are you going?" Ellie jumped at the sudden voice coming from the kitchen. She was trying to sneak out but tried not to look like she was sneaking out.

"Yoongi, don't creep at me like that!" she whisper-yelled, trying not to wake anyone up since it was already 10 pm and some of the boys may have been already sleeping.

"Sorry, but I thought you'd tell me if you wanted to go out. You don't need to hide anything from me, Ellie, you know that, right?" he said in a soothing voice as he took her hand, holding it gently in his.

Oh god, she was so thankful for him.

"I know, Yoongi. I am sorry. I just knew you'd want Jeongguk to go with me again..." she said apologetically, felling upset for hiding something from the one he cared about the most.

"You could have just told me."

"I am sorry. It won't happen again," she apologised, and he smiled sweetly in return. Yoongi's sincerity was radiating from his features. How could she not want to give him her whole world.

"Fine...but I'll need to call someone to watch after you anyways," he sighed, feeling sorry for his little sister.

She wasn't that little anymore, and he knew it, but she will always be her little sister and he'd rather suffer forever than to let anything happen to her. He couldn't lose her again, he just couldn't. That's why he was so overprotective, and she understood that.

"That won't be necessary, I am fine," she tried to convince him. 

"I am sorry, but it is necessary. Who are you going with anyway?" Yoongi asked, not being able to hide his concern.

"Steven. We both need to catch up with biology," she kissed her brother's cheek after putting her shoes on and opening the door for her.

"You spend quite a lot of time together. Is there something going on between you two?" he went straight to the point and thank god it was just him because she wasn't ready for this question.

"Uhm, I guess we do...I don't know, he's kind to me," she managed to blurt out and finally went out of the door

"Okay, I'll call Namjoon to give you a ride. And don't forget a jacket!" he called after her from inside.

She thanked him and walked out of the house, meeting a glaring Jeongguk on the way as he just came back home.
