________
He sees her running out of the building, hair all over the place, sweatshirt tightly gripped in her hand. The tears rolling down her cheeks, glittering under the street lamp, scared him the most.
Ellie was a mess.
She throws her trembling body on him, making him stumble backwards slightly but his back was leaning against the car. Tightly gripping on the material of his shirt, she sobs into his chest.
He was too shocked at the beginning, but his body reacted on its own as his hands wrapped around her back, letting the tears fall on his shirt.
He could feel the trembling of Ellie's body against his, making him feel so helpless.
"Oh god, princess, what did you do?" he mumbles into her hair, pulling her body closer to his chest, scared to death.
"I did something terrible," she shutters between the tears, hiding her face from him.

He was her safe place.
________
During the whole ride, Ellie didn't have the courage to look at Jeongguk. He, on the other side, kept switching his eyes from the road and her, to make sure that she's...he doesn't even know why. Dhe definitely wasn't okay.
But his eyes kept looking for her on their own and he had to make sure she's still there with him.
(don't worry kookie, she's not gonna jump out of the car)
