It had been ten years ago since Beca and Chloe last saw each other. The last time they saw each other was the morning after a party they both went to. It was Stacie's birthday party and everyone was invited. Beca and Chloe started drinking and they drunk more than usual, which caused them to head back to Chloe's place and sleep together. The two of them had been childhood friends and as they grew older together, they began feeling things for each other - romantic things. However, they never addressed their feelings. Neither of them wanted to screw up their friendship that was going so well. They would rather be friends for the rest of their lives than have something happen and the two of them not see each other again. Unfortunately, that drunken night was exactly what drove them apart.
They woke up the following morning with terrible hangovers but they remembered what they did to each other the night before. They thought it was going to be fine and hopefully, it would get them to finally be a couple but it only did the opposite. They agreed never to speak of it again and just go back to being friends but that didn't work out as they hoped. The two began drifting away from each other. They decreased the amount of time they spent together and how much they interacted with each other. Once they graduated, they went their separate ways and hadn't seen each other since. But that wasn't to say that they didn't miss each other because they did. They missed each other more than anything but that night ruined their relationship and being friends was no longer an option. They both blamed themselves for what happened but at the end of the day, what happened, happened and there was nothing they could do about it now.
Ten years later and things had dramatically changed for both of them. Chloe was a famous fashion designer since the redhead had a good eye for fashion and was extremely talented at making clothes and designing them. She was a multi-millionaire by her thirties and she had everything anyone could ever ask for. She was rich, successful, well known and well respected within her field. Chloe Beale was one of the best, if not THE best fashion designer of the Twenty-first Century. The redhead was extremely happy with her career and so proud of how far she had come as were her friends and family. Chloe was living the high life and she was so grateful for it. What made things even better was that Chloe never let her fame, her money, or her status get to her head. She was an extremely grounded person, which made people love her even more. Chloe was always down to earth but her friends and family made sure to keep her grounded. They didn't want to see Chloe be corrupted by money and fame and neither did Chloe.
Beca was also doing well for herself. She was now running her family business, which happened to be one of the best restaurants in Los Angeles. It was a five-star Italian restaurant where all of the rich, successful, and even famous people went. The money was exceptional and Beca was happy, which was all she ever wanted. Her family had worked hard to get to where they were and Beca was so happy when she took over several years ago. Beca's restaurant always had good reviews and was recommended by everyone who went there. Yes, the pricing was high but those who went there were more than able to afford it. Even though Beca was making an abundance of money, she wasn't conceited or looked down at those who couldn't afford to eat at her restaurant. She was never like that though. Beca used to be one of those people who couldn't even afford to eat out at a regular restaurant. Most of the brunette's younger years were spent living off of two-minute noodles and microwave meals. It wasn't the highlight of Beca's college years but she survived and it only made her appreciate what she had now even more.
Beca was closing up the restaurant when the phone rang. It was unusual for people to call at such a late hour but Beca answered it anyway.
"Mitchell's, how can I help you this evening?"
