Beca felt she had lost her mind. She didn't completely understand why she agreed to go into Lily's time travel device but she did. Being obsessed with a historical figure was something Beca never thought she'd be susceptible to but there she was, every night, by her laptop, researching everything she could about Princess Chloe of Great Britain during the 17th Century. Portraits of the redheaded monarch always left Beca in a trance. Chloe's bright-blue eyes encapsulated the brunette as if she were locked in time itself. Beca knew everything there was to know about the Princess except for one thing - her mysterious death. Nobody knew how she died and Beca was determined to find out.
Time travel was a dizzy experience but it worked and somehow (partly to Lily's doing) Beca managed to land the role of the Princess's personal maid. Clad in an apron and an ankle-length dress, Beca was instructed to go into Chloe's room to prepare her for dinner. Beca had no idea how anything worked. She was scared out of her mind by the simple fact that her body had been sucked through a vortex that re-created her in a different time where everyone believed she belonged there. Thankfully, Beca was one of the new maids as Chloe's previous one had to leave due to pregnancy.
"You!"
Beca jolted when she heard a woman bellow behind her.
"What are you doing just standing there? The Princess is waiting!"
Beca was shoved through the large oak, gold-lined double doors and into an extremely large bedroom with a bed fit for an entire family. Exotic carpets covered the floor, there was a resplendent view of the countryside, and there were gorgeous, pristine gowns bedecked with brilliant colours, patterns, and gems, all of which Beca quickly deduced they were real, sitting on the bed.
"You must be the new maid,"
Beca's knees almost buckled upon seeing the Princess. Oil paintings did not do her beauty any justice. Princess Chloe was the most beautiful woman Beca had ever seen in her life. Her smile was flawless and when she approached Beca, the brunette felt her heart stop. This woman was looking right at her, watching and waiting and Beca fell to her knees.
"M, m, my Lady," she choked out in her best British accent.
Chloe giggled. "Please, stand."
Beca wasn't sure if her legs were able but when Chloe offered her hand, Beca rose and met her, noting how warm and soft her hand was. Facing the blue orbs again, Beca was lost. Chloe was gorgeous. Lily had granted Beca a week to figure out how the woman died and Beca wasn't sure if she was able to. Simply looking at Chloe was enough to stun Beca into a mute existence. Those eyes and that red hair were to die for.
"Are you going to dress me?" Chloe prompted.
Beca jolted. "Ah, y, yes. Yes, ma'am. I am."
"Good." Chloe flashed her dazzling smile and led Beca to her dresser and Beca knew this was going to be the biggest challenge she had ever encountered.

DAY 1
The first day was a complete disaster. Beca had no clue how to present the Princess but, thankfully, Chloe helped her without frustration or intolerance. It didn't surprise Beca that much. Chloe was best known for her patience, kindness, and overall good nature. Beca was still intimidated by the woman. Chloe was so kind and patient with Beca. She never got angry or frustrated. Chloe's other family members thought otherwise but Chloe was quick to put them in their place and for someone so young, around Beca's age of twenty-five, the Princess had a lot of influence over people, including Beca who was quick to try and please the woman.
