Christmas. The very word made chills run down Beca's spine. Everything about it Beca hated. She hated the festive music, the colours, the pre-Christmas decorating, and most of all, spending time with the family. So, yes, December was Beca's least favourite month and that hadn't changed ever since she was a teenager. Beca had a father and step-mother who she didn't really get along with and whenever it was Christmas, she had to spend it with them and her other family members who Beca didn't get on with either. The brunette would have much preferred to be on her own making music but her father never allowed it.
Thankfully, this Christmas was different. This Christmas, Beca was going with her girlfriend Chloe to her parent's house to celebrate the festivities. Beca was both nervous and excited. She was nervous because it would be the first time she would meet Chloe's entire family but she was excited because she knew that the Beale's were lovely people and she knew that Chloe would look after her no matter what. Chloe was excited because it was the first time her family were going to meet Beca and she couldn't wait. Chloe's parents had meet Beca a few times and they loved the alt-girl but the rest of the Beale's were yet to meet Beca and they were excited to meet the girl who had made Chloe so happy. Chloe's family were very protective of her since she was so precious but they knew that she must have picked the right person since they made Chloe (who was nothing but sunshine, flowers, and rainbows) even happier.
"You okay, babe?" Chloe checked as she and Beca waited for their bags at the airport, noting how Beca was repeatedly tapping her fingers against her leg.
"Yeah, just a little nervous."
"Don't be. My parents love you and the rest of my family will love you, too. I promise. You're my cute, little badass. What's not to love?"
Beca rolled her eyes at Chloe but the redhead simply kissed Beca's cheek and grabbed her bag once it came. Beca grabbed hers then walked out of the baggage claim section and to the exit with Chloe where Chloe's parents were waiting for them.
"There's our baby girl!"
"Chlobear!"
Sammy and Jack Beale beamed at their daughter once she came into sight.
"Mom! Dad!"
Chloe raced over to her parents and gave them a loving hug as if she hadn't seen them in years. The sight warmed Beca's cold heart and reminded her why she loved Chloe so much. Chloe was full of love and Beca was the luckiest person to be the redhead's other half.
"And there's our future daughter-in-law! Come here!" Jack encouraged Beca.
Beca laughed and walked over to the Beale's who engulfed her in a family hug. Beca loved Chloe's parents. They were so warm and welcoming and they loved Beca as if she were one of their own and Beca felt like she was one of their own. They always had a running joke that Beca would marry Chloe and they'd have a bunch of babies together. At first, Beca was shocked but it didn't phase her anymore. That was just the kind of people Chloe's parents were and Beca loved them for it.
"Now, let's get you girls home!" Sammy gave each girl a kiss on the cheek while Jack took some of their bags to his car.
When Beca first met Chloe's parents, she couldn't believe people so nice, caring, and loving existed but she did think that whoever produced Chloe had to be just as beautiful as her. Chloe looked more like her mother than her father. Sammy had curly red hair and bright, blue eyes, and a cute nose. Chloe got her lips and ears from her father and a bit of his smile, too but Chloe was still Chloe and Beca adored her.
"Are you excited for Christmas, Beca?" Jack asked once everyone was in the car.
"Ah, I suppose so. I'm not much of a Christmas person, to be honest."
