"Let me in, Chlo, please," Beca begs all too much.

"No, leave me alone, Beca!" Chloe snaps.

"You can't do this by yourself."

"Like you care!"

"I DO care, Chlo! Just let me in, please!"

Beca waits in what feels like an eternity when she is almost knocked back when Chloe rips open the ensuite door, her eyes puffy and red from crying.

"You don't care about me, Beca! It's always been about you! You've always been selfish! You never looked after me while I was pregnant and now that I've lost our baby, NOW you seem to care!"

The words rip through Beca like knives. "Chlo, that's not-"

"That's EXACTLY what it is, Beca! You're the most selfish person I've ever met! All you care about is your precious music career and your money!"

And that's all it takes for Beca to snap.

"You know what? Screw you, Chlo! I've had to put up with so much shit from you and this is how you repay me? Fuck you! Go fuck yourself!

"Fuck YOU, Beca! This is all your fault!"

"I wasn't the one to have a miscarriage, sweetheart!"

The words make Chloe faulter as she can feel what's left of her world crumble.

"Fuck you, Beca Mitchell," Chloe pushes the woman away from her. "Fuck. You."

With that, Chloe leaves and Beca resorts to kicking the bedside table so hard that it breaks.

Four years later...

Moving out of the Mitchell household was hard for Chloe but Beca didn't seem to care. After their argument, Beca never cared about anything anymore. It was hard but Chloe knew she couldn't live with the selfish brunette any longer. Part of Chloe wished that Beca would stop her but she didn't. Beca let her go as if she were nobody. As if she and Chloe didn't spend so many years together and tried for a baby only to lose it in the end. It was as if none of that happned. Beca didn't fight for her, for their relationship, and that's what hurt Chloe the most.

Moving away was the best thing Chloe could have done. Once the redhead left, she decided to go back to college and finish her veterinary degree. Chloe always loved animals but she didn't end up finishing since she and Beca were getting a lot more serious and they decided to move in together and start a life together but of course, that didn't work out as either of them planned. Chloe thought about Beca every now and then and she often admonished herself for doing so but a handsome, blue-eyed, brown-haired man was able to keep her mind far off Beca and on him.

"Hi, I'm Chicago." His smile was warm and welcoming.

"Chloe," she blushed.

After a few months of dating, Chloe opened up to Chicago about her past including her miscarriage. Chloe sobbed like a baby when she retold the story but Chicago was more than supportive and that's when Chloe knew there was something different about him. He was like nobody he ever met. He was so attentive and caring and soon enough, Chloe fell in love with him and him her. It really was the happy ever after Chloe imagined and for the first time in her life, Chloe felt like things were going to be okay.

Four years later, and Chloe is still with Chicago as they live together happily in a beautiful apartment with their dog that Chloe showers with attention every day and night. Being a vet has its perks such as adopting as many animals as she wants. If Chloe could, she would adopt every single abused creature she could but unfortunatly, her apartment isn't big enough but she and Chicago are looking at a house together so the potential is there.
