"Beca, that's not fair!" Chloe whined.
"Chloe, it IS fair! It's a better option!"
"No, it's what YOU want to do! I don't want to go to a casual bar! I want to go clubbing!"
"And I've told you that going to be a bar will be much safer!"
"You mean you won't have to worry about people hitting on me and someone potentially spiking my drink."
"Chlo, come on," Beca sighed.
"No, Beca! You do this all the time! I've told you and told you about your control issues but you just keep getting worse!"
"Chlo, I only do it to protect you!"
"And it's too much! I appreciate you being protective over me but I can make my own decisions but for some reason, you don't think that I can. It's gotten to the point where I pretty much don't have a say in anything we do and if I DO have a say, you change it! It's not fair on me and it's not what being in a healthy relationship is all about!"
"I'm not THAT bad!"
"Beca, you have everything planned out. You plan where we're going to go, when we're going to get there, how long we're going to be there for, and when we'll get home! You've even planned out our future!"
"I thought you liked that?"
"I do but I'd like to have some adventure in my life! I want to take risks, Beca. I want to live life to its fullest and I don't want to constantly have one hand tied behind my back."
Beca was insulted by the words. "So I'm the one who has your hand tied behind your back?"
"Well, I certainly can't do what I want now!"
"Chloe, you can do whatever you want to do! I just don't want to see you get hurt and I don't want anything bad to happen to you!"
"And I don't want anything bad to happen to you either but I don't control every aspect of your life!"
The two women paused, both agitated and frustrated. Chloe didn't ask for much from her girlfriend of ten years but it seemed that everything she wanted was rejected by Beca or twisted so it suited Beca. The brunette said that it was to protect Chloe and that she always had the redhead's best interests at heart, which was true. Beca loved Chloe beyond words but there were times where she went over the top and as Chloe said, Beca had only gotten worse to the point where they were arguing almost every day.
Being a famous music producer didn't help with Beca's protectiveness either. She knew how dangerous the world was and she didn't want anything to happen to Chloe and she did whatever she could to protect her.
"I don't think I can do this anymore, Beca..." Chloe uttered.
Beca shot her head up to the older woman's, the blood draining from her face.
"W, what? You can't do what anymore?"
"This. Us. Your controlling ways."
"They're not controlling."
"Controlling. Overprotective. It's too much for me either way and I can't do it anymore."
Beca felt as if her whole world was coming to an end. Chloe Beale - the love of her life - was saying that she couldn't be with her anymore and that hurt more than anything in the world.
"Chloe, I... I..."
"I'm sorry, Bec. I love you but I can't do this. I've told you over and over again to loosen the reins and relax but you didn't listen. I've been putting up with this for ages and now, I'm putting my foot down."
