Beca's POV
You're such a stubborn asshole. You're so stubborn that it has to take you seeing the love of your life walk down the aisle towards another man. You've known Chloe for years and years and she's the most beautiful woman in the entire world. She's got a beautiful heart and mind and you were so lucky to have her be by your side throughout college. You were so lucky to have her as a friend but that's just it - as a friend. You weren't sure of your feelings towards Chloe at the time but now they are as clear as day. You love her. You're in love with her. You want her to be yours. You want to be the one she's walking towards clad in white with a gracious smile across her face. You want to be the one to slip a ring on her finger. You want to kiss her when you finish your vows. You want it all with Chloe but it's too late. Today is Chloe's wedding day and you couldn't be more miserable.
You want to be happy for Chloe since she's going to marry someone she loves and Chloe deserves all of the happiness in the world but you just can't. You want Chloe. You know it's selfish because you've had all this time to do something but you didn't and now, it's too late. Your heart cracks with every second that passes, knowing Chloe is preparing for her big day. You don't want it to happen. You would do anything to stop it but it's not your place. You had your chance and now it's gone. It's a lesson you'll never forget.
"Would you stop moping and just go and get your girl already?" Fat Amy says, smacking you on the back, which startles you.
"Ow!"
"Oh, that didn't hurt. Seriously though, stop moping in your kitchen and go get your girl."
"Did you make the bed? I'm not cleaning up the guest room again and I swear if it's messy, I'm not letting use it anymore. You'll be sleeping on the couch and that's generous."
You're currently living in Los Angeles as a successful music producer and whenever the Bellas are in town, you always allow them to stay over to save on hotel expenses. You're happy to let Fat Amy stay but sometimes she thinks staying in your guest room means she can live like she did when you, her, and Chloe were living together in Brooklyn.
"Stop changing the subject. You need to go and get your girl."
"Amy, she's getting married today. TODAY. I can't just go and get her," you state.
"Why not?"
"Did you not hear what I just said?"
"Beca, she's not married yet. Look, I know you're not good with feelings but I saw how you looked at Chloe and I saw how happy you were whenever you were around her. You would have done anything for her and only her. In college, you did whatever she wanted and it's because you loved her and you still do."
"I don't love her," you scoff.
"Oh, really? Then why are you sitting here drinking whiskey at ten in the morning?"
"It's not whiskey! It's apple juice."
Fat Amy rolls her eyes then quickly grabs your cup, which you try to get off her but she pushes you back and smells it.
"Yeah, apple juice with a very high alcohol level."
"Shut up." You snatch the cup back. "It doesn't matter what I feel for Chloe. She's getting married today so I'm too late."
"Beca!" Fat Amy grabs your cup and empties it in the sink.
"Hey!"
"Stop feeling sorry for yourself! Your feelings DO matter! They matter now more than ever! Yes, Chloe's getting married today but she's not married yet!"
