Sunny days, blue skies

The sun goes down and we close our eyes

Two girls - red hair and brown hair

Unfortunately, the smell of hate is in their air

Constant fighting, troublemakers they are

But the one with the red hair is truly a star

Bright blue eyes and fiery red locks

The girl named Chloe always wears colourful socks

The girl named Beca, disruptive and wired

Always leaves her parents continuously tired

Until one sour day, Beca is hit

And she seeks to find the medical kit

A place of happiness, love, and sunshine

Is what Chloe comes home to every time

A place of tears, anger, and bloodshed

Is what Beca returns to outside her head

Another disruptive day in class

And Beca is told to leave and sit on her ass

Chloe laughs and struts away

With the highest grade in the class, which is an A

With anger and hatred filling her heart

Beca looks for Chloe for a fight to start

Hair pulling, name-calling, and violence thrives

Teachers come out and Beca runs and hides

Detention is given to the brown-haired girl

While Chloe sits with a bucket and begins to hurl

Beca gets punished when she gets home

But is fearful to go and pick up the phone

On her way home on the streets

Chloe sees a silhouette behind some sheets

Voices are raised and fists are raised

But violence is never to be praised

Chloe calls the police about the disturbance

But Beca hates to be a hinderance

Cuts and bruises on the brunette's face

And it's Beca's dad that everybody hates

Beca is on the floor, upset and crying

But is too weak to stand or even attempt trying

Chloe steps over and lends a hand

And for the first time, Beca does not show reprimand

In the station, Beca is waiting

And Chloe puts her hand on Beca's as a gesture of placating

Officers in blue approach the brunette

And tell her the reason for her father's mindset

Angry and upset, Beca knows she will be alone

But Chloe turns around and invites Beca home

Upon arrival, Chloe's parents never thought they'd see the day

When Chloe's childhood friend would come back their way

Adoptive children Beca and Chloe were

The girls were shocked but adoption records did concur

They were the best of friends back in the day

Until two sets of parents took them away

One set was kind, loving, and wanted a girl

With bright, blue eyes and redheaded curls

The other set was violent and abusive in more ways than one

And Beca was sure her days would be done

Shocked and surprised but with that in mind

The girls from then on were kind

Being nice and seeing eye to eye

Was a great way for school days to go by

New parents for Beca soon came

And the brown-haired girl was never the same

Happy days and sunny smiles

Was all Beca had from the family called Kyles

Ten years down the track

And Beca and Chloe never looked back

With rings on both of their fingers

The smell of love in the air lingers

Bedtime reading to girls of three and five

Was what made Beca and Chloe feel alive

Cuddled up in their king-size bed

Was where the girls laid their head

Beca and Chloe looked at them with love

Something so pure just like a white dove

The married couple shared a kiss

Which filled them both with bliss

A happy family they now were

And Beca knew it was because of her

A girl with bright, blue eyes and red hair

Who Beca got given through her prayer

Sunny days, blue skies

The sun goes down and we close our eyes

Two women - red hair and brown hair

Fortunately, the smell of love is in their air
