"Well done once again, Beca! Well done!" Editor in Chief Aubrey Posen cheered as Beca executed another story. "This is why you're the first journalists I go to when we need a good story. You're very good at what you do."
"Thank you, Bree. You don't need to tell me what I already know," Beca smirked, putting her feet up on the blonde's desk.
"You still need to work on that attitude though..." Aubrey pushed Beca's boots off her desk, making Beca roll her eyes. "Regardless, your latest interview with Chloe Beale was amazing. You got her to answer all of the questions, it was fun, lively, and exactly what we're looking for."
"Yeah, it was easy," she shrugged.
"She seems to open up a lot around you."
"She's a very open person."
"Yes, but with you, she opens up a lot."
"What can I say? I'm a very trustworthy person," the smirk was back on Beca's lips and it was one of those things that annoyed Aubrey but she was willing to overlook it since Beca was one of the best journalists in Los Angeles.
"Anyway... You've done a good job. This story will sell well and it'll be the first thing on the tabloids tomorrow morning. People are always itching to know the in's and out's of Chloe Beale's life."
"She's one of the most successful and talented actresses in L.A. When you're that popular, you can't really blame people for wanting to know everything."
"And that's where we come in. As I said, you've done well again. Go home and get some rest. I'll see you tomorrow. I'll have a new project for you by then."
"You don't need to tell me twice." Beca got up and headed for the door.
"Nine sharp!" Aubrey called it.
"Got it, boss!" Beca waved.
Aubrey rolled her eyes and shook her head.

After getting through the hefty Los Angeles traffic, Beca finally arrived at her apartment. She removed her jacket and hung it up followed by her keys and the first thing she noticed was the delicious smell emanating from the kitchen, which Beca automatically gravitated to.
"Mm, something smells good..." Beca hummed, wrapping her arms around her girlfriend who was standing at the stove.
"I'm making your favourite."
"You're so good to me."
"Only because you were so good to me during that interview." Chloe turned around, folding her arms around Beca's neck, and gave her a kiss.
Yes, Beca and Chloe were in a relationship but nobody knew about it and since Beca was a journalist, it was easy for Beca to cover it up. They decided to keep their relationship secret when they began dating. Chloe was going through a lot in her career as was Beca and they didn't want the pressure of the media on them either. They both knew how savage fans and other journalists were in L.A so they decided to play it safe. It got a bit annoying since they wanted to go out and do couple-like things but other than that, they were happy. They knew they had to sacrifice some things when they decided to date but they also knew they wouldn't have to hide forever.
"Did Aubrey like the interview?" Chloe asked.
"She loved it. It'll be published tomorrow."
"You're amazing."
