Here's the thing - Chloe Beale had the biggest crush on Beca Mitchell. She was confident that she loved the moody alt-girl but was too scared to do anything about it. The two had known each other since college and Chloe had purposefully failed Russian literature three times to be with Beca. She told the Bellas that it was so she could remain a Bella but it was secretly to be with Beca, even though Beca had a boyfriend at the time. Chloe's heart broke when she saw Beca kissing Jesse after the ICCA Finals of 2012. The redhead planned to tell Beca how she felt at the after party but her opportunity was lost. Chloe always blamed herself for losing the woman of her dreams but Aubrey told Chloe not to beat herself up and that it was Beca's loss. Chloe appreciated her best friend's kind words but it didn't change the fact that Beca was with somebody else.

However, after several years, Beca and Jesse ended their relationship a few months after the brunette moved to New York with Chloe and Fat Amy. Beca was upset for a few weeks but Chloe comforted the woman, heartbroken that Beca was heartbroken. Even though Chloe never approved of Beca and Jesse's relationship, Chloe hated seeing Beca upset so the redhead did everything she could to make Beca feel better and it worked. Beca knew she could always rely on Chloe to make her feel better in crappy situations.

It was another day in New York and Chloe had the apartment to herself since Beca was still at work and Fat Amy was out doing God knows what. Beca and Chloe gave up on asking where the Australian was and what she was doing since the woman was so unpredictable. All they told her was not to get into trouble and call them if she needed them. Thankfully, Fat Amy never needed them for anything serious. Chloe was standing in the kitchen with a hot chocolate in her hand as she made one for Beca. Chloe knew the brunette loved coming home to a hot chocolate while dinner was being made. Chloe was currently on holidays from her vet training so the redhead was able to practice her cooking skills and was able to make resplendent meals, which Beca loved.

Chloe was in the process of making dinner when she heard the jingling of keys outside the apartment. Chloe's heart rate picked up, causing her to tidy up her hair and make sure her clothes were presentable. Chloe was wearing a white sweater and extremely short shorts, which she wore as pyjama bottoms during the summer. However, it wasn't summertime. It was creeping into winter but Beca and Chloe managed to get their heating fixed so the apartment was toasty enough for Chloe to wear her pyjama shorts. It had been nearly three years since Beca and Jesse broke up and Chloe was only just starting to try and get Beca's attention. It was only little things like making her favourite food and wearing certain things. She had caught Beca looking at her several times whilst wearing short shorts so Chloe made a mental note to wear them again.

Chloe quickly checked her hair in the reflection on her phone before resuming cooking and acting casual before Beca walked into the apartment.

"Dude..." Beca groaned. "It's so nice in here..."

A smile graced Chloe's face as Beca unraveled the scarf from around her neck and removed her thick winter coat.

"Cold out there?" Chloe smiled.

"You have no idea..." Beca flopped onto the fold-out bed that she shared with Chloe and sighed.

"Here," Chloe walked over to Beca with her hot chocolate.

"You're the best." Beca sat up, took her mug, and had a sip of her beverage. "Mm... Perfect as always. Thank you."

"You're welcome," Chloe winked at the brunette then turned and walked off, making sure to strut a little just for Beca in the small distance there was from the bed to the kitchen.

Beca bit down on her lip as she watched Chloe walk off. Beca had never recognised her feelings until recently but the brunette harboured a huge crush on the redhead. She always felt something for Chloe during her years at Barden but never knew what they were. It wasn't only until after she broke up with Jesse that she realised that she had feelings for her best friend. What made matters awkward was that Beca and Chloe shared a bed together and Chloe was a cuddler. The number of times that Beca wanted to roll Chloe over and kiss her was endless.
