It was the ICCA Finals of 2012 and the Bellas were in the midst of performing. Thanks to Beca, the crowd loved them and for the first time, the Bellas really loved performing on stage. They loved it so much they didn't even care if they won. Sure, winning would have been great but they were actually performing as a team and it was fun - something Chloe hadn't properly experienced until Beca took over. Chloe was so proud of the alt-girl who she had been dating throughout the year. Aubrey wasn't happy about her best friend dating her enemy but remarkably, Beca made Chloe happy so Aubrey couldn't complain about that.
It had been a bit of a rough year for Beca since she and Aubrey always clashed and she didn't particularly like studying but the saving grace in all of that was Chloe who always encouraged Beca and pushed her to do her best. Beca was stubborn but Chloe knew how to work her so Beca ended up achieving more than she thought she ever would. Chloe was super proud of how far Beca came and she could see that Beca was full of potential that Aubrey just wouldn't accept until recently.
Thankfully, the end of the year had mended a lot of things for Beca such as her relationship with her dad and her relationship with the Bellas. However, her friendship with Jesse was still fractured. Beca may or may not have snapped at the man when he was trying to stand up for Beca when Aubrey was attacking her. Jesse was completely dumbfounded by Beca's outburst and was extremely hurt and insulted by the brunette and what made matters worse was that it felt like Beca didn't care. She didn't care when the words came out of her mouth and she didn't seem to care when the two of them hadn't spoken in weeks. Jesse even made the effort to avoid getting put on the same shift with Beca at the radio station. Once Beca found that out, she knew she had made a mistake and needed to make it right.
Unfortunately, resolving things with people wasn't Beca's strong suit so she turned to the one person she knew she could rely on and who would have the answer to everything - Chloe. Chloe was proud of her girlfriend for wanting to fix things with Jesse. They talked about what happened between them and how Beca felt about it. Beca hated discussing her feelings but it seemed that wasn't a problem with Chloe. Beca just opened up and she didn't feel vulnerable or scared. She trusted Chloe and actually enjoyed talking with the redhead and Chloe loved it, too. After hours of talking, Chloe had finally told Beca what she had needed to do. She simply had to admit her fault and apologise to him but that didn't work and when it didn't Beca had no idea what to do next.
That was until Beca remembered the things Jesse said to her whilst talking about movies. So, Beca watched The Breakfast Club and ended up getting quite emotional and that's when she knew what she had to do to make things right.
"When I walk on by... will you call my name?" Beca sang as she watched Jesse who was peering up at her. "When I walk on by... will you call my name?"
Jesse's anger and hurt dissipated when Beca sang and he had no power over the smile that crept across his face and he ended up raising his fist as did Beca when she hit the chorus with a big smile and powerful voice. The Bellas sang with all their might and were met with a standing ovation once they were done. The women hugged each other, saying how proud they were of one another. Chloe kissed Beca's cheek and hugged her, praising her for doing such a good job on the set and told her how proud she was. Beca wanted to pull Chloe into a searing kiss but she wasn't that confident to do that and Chloe knew it, too, which was fine. It was just something else Chloe had to work on.
"I'll be back, okay?" Beca said to Chloe when the Bellas were moving off the stage.
"Where are you going?"
"I've just got to talk to someone. I won't be too long."
"Okay." Chloe squeezed Beca's hand before letting her go.
