ETHANS POV:

I just stand there staring out the window at her until she's out of sight. Why didn't I chase her? There's no way in actual hell that I'm going on tour now. I want to go after her, but I'm still in shock of what just happened. I know there's something wrong, something she isn't telling me.I want to chase her, but my legs won't move. I just lost her.

CHRIS' POV:

I am walking back along the creek to Ethan's house. I take my time since Paisley's probably sleeping and Ethan won't leave her side. I kick a stone and loosen my school tie when I hear a voice shouting my name.

"Chris!" The voice calls.

I turn around to see a guy jumping out of a car and running towards me. It was Jai Waetford.

"Jai!" I greet as we bro fist.

"Hey, I'm doing pop up concerts around here for the next couple of weeks. I didn't think I'd see you here." He explains.

"Well, Paisley and Ethan are at home if you want to come with me" I tell him, then I remember Paisley.

"Wait, they're here?"

"They moved here, didn't you know?" I ask. I thought he would've known.

"Oh?" He says, confused.

"Oh.. And um.. Something happened to Paisley a couple of days ago.." I hesitate.

"Oh my god what happened?" He asks.

"Well, she sort of got abused, like.. Sexually. She almost got raped." I explain.

"Is she okay!?" Jai asks, looking really worried. I think we all are.

"Sort of. I don't really know."

"Oh my god." Jai whispers as we keep wandering by the creek.

There's a bit in The creek where it starts to widen out and the water gets much deeper and it runs faster. This bit is dangerous because there's lots of rocks and the current runs in this weird way where it pulls you down under the water. There's lots of signs up saying to keep away because so many people have drowned in it. The water is quite shallow in the rest of the creek and often people just cross through the water. They built a small, wooden bridge high above this dangerous part because the water level is rising and falling all the time. We are just walking up to where the creek widens when I see someone climbing over the handrail. They look like they're about to jump. We walk closer and I can't take my eyes off of the girl. Something just looks so familiar about that unmistakable blue hoodie.. Holy shit, Paisley.

A/N: as I'm editing this, I have no clue why I uploaded chapters under a thousand words.. What the hell was wrong with me?
