Chapter 34.

ETHANS POV:

When I wake up, Paisley isn't here. I guess she's just in the shower so I get up and grab my phone. 1:00!? And I have three dirty texts from Chloe!? I decide to text her back because she's done it again.

Ethan: WTF, WRONG ETHAN CHLOE!?

She texts back really quickly, obviously embarrassed.

Chloe: IM SORRY ETHAN, THAT WAS MEANT FOR MY BF ETHAN, NOT YOU ETHAN

Ethan: Well there's some texts I never thought I would get from any of my cousins.

Chloe: sorry Ethan, I'll see you at Easter right? The rest of the families really missing you back here.

Ethan: Probably, I think my tours coming down that way. Are you and Rebecca coming?

Chloe: of course, wouldn't miss it for the world xx. MY BABY COUSINS FINALLY GROWING UP.

Ethan: yeah, whatever. See you soon. Bye.

Chloe: nice talking to you Etho, (not all of it)

I put my phone down and walk into the hallway to find the bathroom completely empty. Huh? Where's Paisley?

I check all of the rooms upstairs but I can't find her.

"Paisley?!" I call.

No answer. I walk downstairs, starting to get a little worried and find a note on the table from Holly.

'Hey guys, gone to work early. Jack and Rachael are at daycare. Take care and see you tonight.' it read.

Paisley probably went with holly so I stop panicking and sit down on the couch and watch some TV. I get bored after a couple of shows so I plug in the Xbox and play some random game for an hour or two. I don't realise I hadn't eaten until my stomach growls rather loudly. I pause the game and head out to the kitchen to make myself a sandwich. When I finish making it, I head back to the couch to eat it. It is 4:00 when I finish and I start to get worried because holly and Paisley aren't home yet. I call Paisley three times but she doesn't pick up on either of them. Then I hear a knock on the door and jump up to answer it, hoping its Paisley. But it's Chris. Oh well, close enough.

"Why the disappointed face? Aren't you excited to see me!?" Chris asks when he sees my expression.

"Yeah, just Paisley's out and I was hoping she was home." I explain, letting Chris in.

My phone rings so I run over to it in the hope it's Paisley. But it's not Paisley.

"Hey, Holly." I sigh.

"Hey Ethan, I have just been called to an important business conference tomorrow. I have to fly out tonight so are you and Paisley okay home alone for a week?" Holly asks.

"Um, yeah. Can I speak to Paisley?" I ask.

"Paisley? Isn't she with you?" Holly asks.

"I thought she was with you? Oh, she's probably gone out with Meghan. It's okay." I say, mostly just to make sure Holly goes. I want a week with my Paisley alone.

"Alright, well I'll see you next Sunday. Bye, Ethan, tell Paisley too. Thank you." holly says as she hangs up.

"Have you seen or spoken to Paisley today?" I ask Chris.

He just shrugs and shakes his head, then walks over to the couch and unpauses the game, continuing on from where I was before. I plug in the second controller and play with him.A couple of hours later, I look at my watch and see that it's 8:00 and Paisley's not back yet.

"Why are you so distracted?" Chris asks, pausing the game.

"Paisley's not back."

"Call Meghan." Chris tells me.

"Okay," I say as I grab my phone. I call Meghan and after three rings she picks up.

"Hey, it's Ethan. Is Paisley there?" I greet.

"No, haven't seen her in ages." She replies.

"Wait, she's not there?" I ask, just to make sure I heard right.

"No.. Why?"

"Don't worry, gotta go. Bye." I say, hanging up.

"Paisley's not there.." I say, the worst possible scenarios dawning on me.

"I'm sure she'll come come later. I'm really sorry, mate, but mums about to take me to Grace's for the night." Chris States, standing up and grabbing his stuff.

"I'm sure she'll come home, okay?" He reassures him as he walks to the door. I just nod as he disappears out into the night.
