(Y/n)'s P.O.V
"Clues are all around. This is a child's play— if you're wise that is. My nen manipulates paper so find them around the mansion, the instructions in it will help you win.. The test starts now." His fan covered half of his face, unnoticeably backing away as he disappeared behind the shadowy trees.Since Kalluto's still a bit of a kid inside, he preferred to toy with us... I doubt this is even his real test... He said himself— Be sharp.
"We have no leads except this letter we're holding.. but the only thing's written here is the meeting place, indicating the first site of test." I looked at Yukarin, whispering. "Let's team up for now so we could both retrieve our items."
Besides, I wouldn't know the content of this letter if Yukarin haven't told me. I can't write nor read hunter x hunter's own language even though I can somehow speak it. I can't win without Yukarin. What a huge disadvantage.
"Right. I think there's still something in it.." She pulls out the paper inside, letting it drop down the ground like a leaf as she ripped open the letter's cover and discovered that there's a hidden message included inside the envelop itself. I did the same after.
This riddle will lead you to the other letter.
It can't be seen, can't be felt, can't be heard and can't be smelt. It lies behind stars and under hills, and empty holes it fills. It comes first and follows after, ends life and kills laughter. What is it?
"What?.. erm... Do you know the answer?" She scratches her head, clueless.
"Can you pass the question by reading it to me? I-I can't read you see.." I shamefully admitted.
She sighed disappointingly yet did it anyways.
"Well that's something basic for a starter. The answer is the dark/darkness." I crossed my arms. "But what about darkness? The sun's still up and we're not even familiar with their mansion... but then if we based it with common sense, the basement would be the house's darkest area... where the sun doesn't reach, since it's underground..?"
"You know it'd be the best if the letters are infused with his nen so I'd track it all in no time. Sadly, these are just ordinary." She flings it off. "Let's go."
We ran back inside, taking all stairs that leads down, deep into their basement. We've killed too much time by just from the first instruction. I could use up all my phone's battery if this will take more hours.
"Odd. We don't see any butlers or any Zoldycks around." She utters.
"The butlers were most likely ordered to isolate the mansion and the Zoldyck family was probably watching us in Milluki's control room." I guessed.
I turned off my cellphone's flashlight. "Alright. I think we're here." I noticed the basement sign above the wall. "Although we just randomly took stairs that made us lost, we're lucky to reach their basement." We sighed at the same time, and found a light switch by the wall, gaining a bit electrical power as the bulbs flickered for awhile.
Upon entering the space, we immediately spotted the next letter above the dusty, old wooden table.
"I'm seen in the water but I never get wet. What am I?" She reads.
