Chapter Five

Seconds,minutes,hours,days,weeks,months all passed. Amaani has written her final exam and her result was out,her their result was out,her WAEC result was so impressive,their graduation day has been fixed,she has been preparing for this long awaited day for the past few months. Ummu and Abbu were so happy with the children, Aunties, Uncles and other members of the family too heard about the good news, they were excited and can't wait for the day, because it has been long since when they had an event in the family.
On the other side, Amaan wrote his final exams in the university and graduated with first class in Petroleum engineering,he was the overall best student in their department,the lecturers,Vice Chancellor and the students were all happy with his performance and impressed with his efforts and hard-working. He called Abbu and informed him the good news,Abbu was very proud of his son, Abbu told Ummu about the good news and said to her; You see what we gave birth to and raised right? Ummu nodded with a smile with her shiny teary eyes and said; without you and God they wouldn't have come to the world and yes we made it,I'm so proud of of my children,they will inshaALLAH be successful in their lives,they will be more than that inshaALLAH, May Allah bless them,they chorused together Ameen Ya Allah,Abbu invited Ummu for a bone crushing hug but full of love and affection,he whispered in her ears; I love you Maryam, you'll forever be my number one Queen,you are such a heroine, thank you for everything,she squeezed him more tightly and whispered back in his ears; I love you too Abbu, thank you for the love and everything,you'll forever be my hero.
Amaan's graduation date has been fixed and Amaani's graduation date too has been fixed. Amaan's graduation will be on the 29th of July in their school in Abuja while Amaani's graduation will be on the 1st of August in their school in Kano.
It was 12:00 noon,Ummu came out of her room to see her daughter,she saw her sitting on the study chair and table writing something down in a jotter, Ummu asked Amaani what she was doing,she said I'm checking out the type of outfits I will wear to my graduation dinner and graduation day, Ummu said; Oh Amaani the ritzy, you are such a fashionista,they laughed together and Ummu said ; Amaani get ready,we are going for Amaan's graduation shopping and we'll go to Aunty Aisha's house( Ummu's elder sister ),then to Granny's house( Ummu's Mother ),Amaani jumped up happily and said; Yay,lemme quickly get ready, Firstly is because she loves shopping, secondly is because she likes being around her cousins so that they'll have fun and thirdly is that she wants to go to Granny's house because they love each other very much, Granny pets Amaani very well.
Amaani wore Atamfa of her favorite colour which is red then black,the background of the fabric is black decorated with red floral designs,it was skirt and blouse which fitted her body well and showed her complete figure 8,she applied a light makeup,a powder,a light red lipstick,she lined her eyes with an eyeliner,she combed her hair in a low bun and tied her hair tie beautifully which showed the curly black hair on her forehead,she wore a black wrist watch,an anklet which was beautifully worn on her thin ankle,a dangling shiny red earring dangling beautifully on her ear,she picked a red mini veil,a red nine west slippers,and a red Louis Vuitton side bag,she changed her phone's case to Red,she finally sprayed her Arabian perfume and moved out of the room to where Ummu was.
Ummu wore her blue coloured lace bubu gown and a touch of baby pink colour,a Gucci handbag,a matching pink coloured veil,a pink nine west slippers,they both looked so ravishing, they moved out to the parking lot, Ummu will be the one to drive the car,so they entered the car and drove off to a big shopping mall,they bought some things for Granny and bought fruits by the road side and went straight to Granny's house,she was happy to see them,she hugged her dear granddaughter and congratulated them in advance. They exchanged greetings with Ummu and talked for some time about the children's graduation,they stayed for some time before they stood up to go. Granny thanked her daughter, Ummu asked her to stop thanking her,that she deserves more than that,she said to her Mum; I love you Mama, we'll talk about the children's graduation preparations. They called Mama's maid to pick the things and take them to their places,she greeted Ummu and Amaani and did as she was ordered. Ummu and Amaani stood up to leave,they said goodbye to Mama and stood up to leave.
They went straight to Aunty Aisha's house,they arrived safely and entered the house with "Assalamualaikum", the children shouted happily and hugged Ummu and Amaani,Ummu answered them each and asked them if they're all fine,the answered; we are fine Ummu, Ummu smiled and said; okay alhamdulillah. Aunty Aisha was in her room, so Ummu went inside the room where she met her lying on the couch,Aunty Aisha said; so it's you Maryama,I heard the children's noise and shouting,I thought it's their seasonal madness, Ummu laughed and said; which one is seasonal madness again? Sister you'll never change,Aunty Aisha said; and Maryama you'll never stop this your "Manyance" meaning "acting maturely while someone is not old enough to do so", Ummu said; I'm old enough to act maturely since I have two matured children,they both laughed before they start gisting about the upcoming graduations,their businesses and life's ups and downs.
Amaani came into the room together with Amal who is her age mate among the children in the house,Amaani respectfully greeted Aunty Aisha,Aunty Aisha smiled and answered; Amaani my beautiful daughter, hope you are doing good? Amaani you are glowing and looking more beautiful everyday,hope you and Amal will soon bring our son-in-law? They smiled shyly and Amal said; Mommy, she already has someone I guess,just that the time hasn't come yet, everyone in the room was surprised by Amal's statement,but Ummu and Aunty Aisha said; okay then what is Destined to be will be,so we all should wait for the time,Amaani and Amal turned to go out, Amaani was following Amal behind, Aunty Aisha said to Ummu; Maryama, Amaani is just beautiful and lovely in her ways, is there any secret behind the glow, freshness and beauty? Ummu said; there's nothing behind it sister, Ummu said in her mind; "Tabarakallah Masha Allah". Ummu and her sister stood up to pray,after praying, they went out of the room to the parlour where they met the children gisting non-stop, Aunty Aisha called her maid and asked her if the cook has finished cooking,the maid answered; yes he's done Hajiya,Aunty Aisha said okay then you two should come and serve the lunch. The lunch was served, they all ate silently. After eating they all sat in the parlour watching TV and talking randomly,they talked about the upcoming graduations,they arranged everything. Ummu asked Aunty Aisha where Ayman is, Aunty Aisha said; he's in the office,work has been hectic for him these days, Ummu said; I wish him all the best,Aunty Aisha said; Ameen Ya Allah.
It was time for Asr prayer,they all prayed and continued talking,they never get tired of talking,Amal, Laila and Amaani took some pictures and posted on the social media.
Ayman came back from office around 5:00pm,he was looking tired,but on seeing the figure sitting in the parlour made him become alright,Amal and Laila noticed the sudden change of their brother,they winked their eyes at each other and looked back at the direction where Ayman was still standing,Amaani noticed the nonverbal communication that was going on,so she looked at the direction where the two girls were looking at,but on seeing Ayman,her heart beated as fast as possible,cold shivers going down her spine,Ayman couldn't take away his eyes from Amaani,he slowly and quietly came into the parlour and sat where his sisters were sitting, they all greeted him,he asked Amal to make coffee for him,she stood up and went to the kitchen,Amaani followed her behind,Amaani said; Amal may I help you in making the coffee? Amal said; wow I would be glad if you help me,Amaani prepared the special type of coffee she used to make for Abbu,she put it on the tray,gave the tray to Amal and asked her to take it to Ayman, she dropped it on the centre table, he sipped the coffee and smiled, he said to Amal; this coffee seems special and different today,Amal replied; ask Amaani, I wasn't the one that made it, he turned to Amaani and said, well done Princess,I like this coffee,wish I would get this everyday,Amaani smiled and said; Amal and Laila can make it, he said; I know right! After finishing the coffee,he said; "Alhamdulillah", he moved close to Amaani and said; "congratulations, I heard that your result was impressive,more grease to your elbows and you look breathtaking today,you look like a bride,she smiled and said; thank you.
Ummu and Aunty Aisha came out of the room to the parlour, they saw Amaani and Ayman talking in a low voice, Ummu blushed and Aunty Aisha cleared her voice and loudly said; Masha Allah, so this is the truth that this children have been hiding from us,what is Destined to be is now out,so the right time has come now,Amaani looked at her in surprise,while Ayman doesn't like how his Mum is behaving, he greeted Ummu and went to the room. Ummu told Amaani to get ready that they have to go home, Amaani said that she's ready. Amal, Laila and Aunty Aisha accompanied Ummu and Amaani to the parking lot, they said goodbye to each other and drove away. Amaani missed her two cousins,she enjoyed the day very much.
They arrived home immediately the maghrib prayer was called,they went inside the house and went to the room to pray, after prayers they came out to the dining area where they met Abbu waiting for them to come and eat, they ate,talked and Amaani said goodnight to her parents,the days thought came to her mind, she thought about the fun they had and Ayman's part too came to her mind,she said; naughty you Ayman,she shook her head and prayed before sleeping and travelled to dreamland.
