Chapter Six

           Amaani woke up in the morning feeling tired,she checked the time, it was quarter to six,she was late for fajr prayer,she quickly stood up and rushed to the bathroom and quickly performed ablution,came out and prayed,after praying,she seeked for forgiveness from Allah , prayed to God for success,right spouse,she prayed to God for success,right spouse,she prayed for her family and their well being. Amaani lied on the bed with half covered duvet around her body,she started thinking of how the upcoming events would be. She picked her phone and opened her Instagram,she saw a beautiful dress sewed by;  Nour's_couture on IG,she liked the dress so much ,so she took screenshot of the dress in order to show Ummu,she scrolled down, luckily she saw a very beautiful shoe and clutch posted by; buymorewears_collection on IG,she took screenshot of it too in order to show Ummu. She was so happy,so she named the morning,"a lucky  morning". She squeezed her eyes but unluckily,the sleep is no more in her eyes, so she kept looking at the gown, shoe and clutch that she screenshot. She liked them very much,in her mind she knows that something good is gonna happen,it was when she checked the date on her phone and she saw it was the 28th of July,she remembered it was a day to Amaan's graduation and also four more days to hers. She was so happy,so she called Amaan to confirm if she was awake, luckily for her,After one ring,he picked the call and said; What's up baby sis? She answered; Ya Amaan,I can't sleep,so I called to know if you're awake so I could come to your room and talk with you,I'm sitted here all bored and dry and I can't sleep,it hurts. Amaan laughed non-stop and said; it's okay,I'll come either.
           Amaan came to his sister's room few minutes after the call in his Superman pyjamas holding his phone on his left hand and a cup of steamy hot tea on his right hand. She smiled on seeing her brother and said; Good morning Ya Amaan,he answered; Good morning Amaani hope you're good and how was your night? She answered; I'm perfectly fine Ya Amaan,he said in his husky deep voice and a serious look on his face; Errmmm Amaani what stopped you from going back to sleep this morning,are you alright? She answered; I'm fine Yaya,just that I'm happy about the upcoming events and I tried going back to sleep but I couldn't,Amman smiled and said; you like events too much and he laughed at the end of the sentence. Amaani said; Ya Amaan,lemme show you something,Amaan said; what's that? She said; look here,do you like these dress,the shoe and the clutch? Amaan opened his mouth in Aww and said; why not? It was love at first sight with the dress, clutch and shoe,they both laughed. They talked about the graduations and whatnot.
          Suddenly,a knock came from outside the door and later on opened,it was Ummu wearing a knee-length hijab and a sleeping gown, she smiled on seeing her kids together talking and laughing,they greeted her and she invited them for a warm hug and rubbing their backs at the same time. They told her the reason why they are together and told her about Amaani's dress, clutch and shoes, Ummu collected Amaani's phone in order to see the dress,on seeing the dress,she said; Masha Allah and it will fit you my daughter,but which colour did you ordered? Amaani replied; I haven't ordered yet,was waiting for your opinion before choosing, Ummu said; Aww my daughter,I love your sharp thinking and maturity, Amaani said; Awww mum, thank you very much and I love your understanding.
           Ummu turned to Amaan and said; what about you my son? How far with your outfits? Amaan answered; Ummu have you forgotten that I bought a suit, waistcoat, trouser, necktie, belt and shoe? Ummu was silent for a moment before saying; oh! I remember, Amaan said; so you've started forgetting things so easily, is it the old age symptoms? Ummu shrugged her shoulders and said; maybe Amaan,I and Abbu are getting old day by day and I want to see my two in-laws and grandchildren,the two children said in unison; don't worry Ummu, it's a matter of time,we will make you happy. Ummu asked Amaani to order the gown they selected for her,she logged into Instagram and DMed Nour's_couture for the how , luckily she was active,she replied kindly; hello customer, how may I help you? Amaani told her that she wants a black colour of the gown she posted last on her page,the server told her the cost of the gown, Amaani told her that she wants an additional unique classy style and combination,the client answered her; don't worry we will make you happy, Amaani thanked her. Amaani DMed buymorewears_collection for the clutch and shoe,she chose the type and selected the colour she wanted and they talked about the price and date of delivery,the date of delivery will be on the same date with the gown,she told Ummu that she's done with the order.
           Ummu sent Amaan for her phone in the room, Amaan came back with it and passed it to her,she collected the phone and logged into her Instagram,she told the children that she wants to order the snacks and refreshments for the event. She DMed Crunchy_crumbles on IG for the samosas and spring rolls,Dmed Donut_galaxy for the doughnuts, DMed lieymerh's_delicia for the cupcakes,milkshakes,cake loafs and parfaits,DMed Kelly bites_kn for the drinks,she told them that she's going to need the snacks on 29th of July which means tomorrow,they all agreed.
            She told Amaani and Amaan that they would be in the airport tomorrow before 8am in the morning together with; Herself and Abbu,Aunty Aisha and her family including Daddy,Granny,Amaan and yourself in order to leave for Abuja. Amaani replied; okay and jumped up happily. Ummu told her that the rest of the relatives would go too but on their own from their homes. Abbu came into Amaani's room were the rest of his families were and said; what's going here,did I miss something? They all laughed at Abbu and said nothing much only the talk of the graduations.
              Around 12:30pm, Amaani came out of the room to the dining room,she ate Chips and eggs and went back to her room,picked her veil,bag and wore her shoes,she was wearing a material gown,she quickly ran back to her room in order to pick her phone and her salon bag. She went to Ummu's room, but Ummu was not there,she checked Abbu's room too, Abbu wasn't there and Ummu either,she remembered that they went out together. She called her Mum and told her that she is going to the hair dressing shop to make her hair, Ummu agreed and told her that Amaan too has gone to the the barbing shop to trim,carve and shape his hair and beard,Amaani said; okay.
          Amaani left Larai in the house tidying up everywhere in the house,she walked to the parking lot where she met Malam Lawan,she told him to take her to zoo road to the beauty salon she usually goes,they drove out of the gate.
            They arrived in few minutes,he told her that he would wait for her to finish,she answered; okay then. Her hair took more than an hour to take care of because it's long and much,after an hour Amaani's hair was well done,she paid the hairdresser and went to the car where Malam Lawan was still waiting for her,they went back home. At home,she met Ummu and Abbu sitting tiredly in the parlour with shopping bags on the carpet,she greeted them and Ummu passed her one of the shopping bags on the carpet,she greeted them and Ummu passed her one of the shopping bags,she thanked her parents before opening it. It was a stylish,wonderful,sheen,shiny,shaped and attractive black Abaya decorated with red shiny beautiful stones by Kano Abaya and boxes,a beautiful atmosphere loafers and bag,she hugged her parents and thanked them once more with hugging both of them.
              It was time for Asr,they all prayed and continued their works,the house was too noisy and busy, because her Aunty Aisha and other Ummu's siblings came, Amaani was sad because Aunty Aisha didn't come with Amal and Laila,she remembered her that they would meet tomorrow.
              In a blink of eye,it was night and everyone has gone home,all the members of the family were asleep already because they were tired. Amaan slept in the sitting room lying tiredly on the floor, Amaani slept without changing to pyjamas.
