Chapter Sixty

It was a brisky, crispy and frosty morning. The sound of the cold harmattan breeze and the movement of dry leaves on the ground woke Amaani up from her sleep. It was 5:30am at dawn and the Fajr adhaan has been called. She woke her two cousins up from sleep in order to pray. They all woke up, brushed their teeth and performed ablution with hot steamy water. They all prayed and said some adhkars before they greeted each other, Ummu came inside the room after a knock on the door from her to wake them up for Fajr, she was so happy to see them awake, they all greeted her and she answered and blessed them before she left.

Amal and Amaani started talking non-stop while they were under the covers, Amal told her that Ahmad called her while she was asleep and also she told her about the peck, they all laughed before Amaani called Ahmad on phone and he picked after some rings. They greeted each other and after that Amaani told him how cold she is at the moment.

"Amaani ain't this your favorite weather??" Ahmad asked.

"Yes baby, it is!! But today's cold is very different from everyday's cold, today's own is meant for two". Amaani covered her face while she said it.

"Ohh I gatchya, I now know where you're heading to, don't you worry it's a a matter of time and besides, our wedding would be during this season by next year". Ahmad said.

Amaani chuckled shyly and covered her face with her palms as if he's seeing her and then she said "Ohh yeah baby, may we witness the day alive and healthy".

"Ameen baby girl". Ahmad answered.

"Now how are you feeling? Hope there isn't headache again??". Ahmad asked full of care.

"Yes I'm feeling fine now, alhamdulillah". Amaani said.

"Okay we thank God". Ahmad said thankfully.

They continued talking about other things and his work too, Amaani too talked about school and all. After they've talked enough, she told him that she's going back to sleep and he told her so too. "I would wake up inshaALLAH by 7:00am for work, I've already took my bath, all i have to do when I wake up is to wear my clothes, sip some tea and leave for office, I will eat when I reach the office".

"I would like to dress up a baby this morning, I want to wear some heavy clothes on someone that will prevent him from cold and also, give the baby some hot soup and steamy hot beverage". Amaani said teasingly.

"Ohh I got you Amaani, don't try to be naughty this morning, we need to go back to sleep if not this cold is making some people go cra". Ahmad said.

"Crazy". Amaani finished the sentence for him.

"Amaani you're becoming naughty and stubborn". Ahmad said teasingly and jokingly.

"So you are". Amaani said.

They all laughed happily before they said goodbye and hang up.

Amal has drifted off to sleep already, Laila stood up to adjust the room heater while Amaani drew the blanket up and travelled to Lala land.

It was past 10:00am and Ihsan was still sleeping while her Aunties, mum and maids were done with the guest's foods, they arranged everything and also the house was clean.
Her phone woke her up from sleep, it was Suhail, she answered with a sleepy voice and greeted him.

"My sleepyhead wife to be with inshaALLAH, how was your night?? He asked.

Ihsan chuckled and said "Ya ustaz, my night was great alhamdulillah".

"MashaAllah, I pray that today's introduction ends up well and inshaALLAH it's our first step in being together". Suhail said.

"InshaAllah Suhail, we pray so". Ihsan said.
