Chapter Ten

Amaan woke up with the thought of the girl he met on his graduation,he always feel like crying whenever he remembers her because he wants to set his eyes on her,he loves her so very much,it was indeed love at first sight, he's so desperate to see her even though he doesn't think that she would accept him,he sat down on his bed and sighed, he was now deep in his thoughts, recalling the smiles,wink and waves she did and gave to him,he remembered how he felt something he has never feel for any girl and he was having thesame thing now while thinking about her,it was cold shivers going up and down from his head to the spine, goosebumps appearing on his skin and the crazy butterflies going from one side of his stomach to another,he liked the feeling and he thought to himself and said; now that we aren't together,this is what I'm feeling,what about when we're together, the feeling will be times the one I'm feeling right now. Amaan has already fell for the girl and kept wondering where he would ever see her,but he promised to himself that he would not love any girl except the girl he fell in love with at first sight,so he made promise to himself that he would find her no matter where she is and he would keep praying to Allah to unite them sooner or later. Amaan stood up and went to the bathroom to brush his teeth and wash his face, he came out in his loose pyjamas and went out of the room holding his phone,he went straight to the sitting room where we met Ummu, Abbu and Amaani discussing and thinking about living their only daughter to go to the graduation dinner which parents are excluded,the parents were insecure with the graduation,so they were deciding on who to follow Amaani to the dinner. Luckily, Amaan came in and greeted his parents in his deep,husky and matured voice,they answered happily. He looked at his sister's face who was really worried about something he doesn't know,he bent down in front of her and asked her what's going on with her,she pouted and said to her brother that Ummu and Abbu are not secured about going to the graduation dinner alone without them that she wants to join me with someone who will look after me,Amaan please tell Ummu that I am no more a baby, pleeaasseee. Amaan laughed and shook his head and said to Ummu; Ummu this girl is no more a baby, she's grown up, Ummu haven't you forgotten that she's a graduate?
Ummu smiled and said to Abbu; see who is talking,Amaan laughed hysterically. Ummu cleared her voice and said; you two are still babies to me because I still see you as small children me and Abbu,so I have to protect and take care of you all because it's my responsibility, Allah will ask me in the day of resurrection. Amaan and Amaani nodded and said okay Ummu. Abbu finally said interrupted and said; I think you'd love this decision,why not join the two together to go for the graduation? Ummu yelled; yes my husband,what a good advice! Amaan and Amaani winked at each other and were happy about Abbu's decision but didn't let Ummu notice because she would say that they are up to something and she can cancel going to the whole graduation dinner.
They were all sitted in the dining room having their breakfast when Amaani's phone beeped a message,she ignored it at first and continued eating but on remembering her crush that they met on the graduation day,she quickly checked the phone to see if he's the one that sent her a message,she unlocked the phone and saw an unknown number's text which read;

" Good morning my secret lover who will inshaALLAH be my real lover,our love will no more be secret from the day you say yes to my proposal,I fell in love with you from the day I set my eyes on you,my heart told me that you such a nice person,I texted to know if you're doing good,I wanted to check on you first before calling you,goodbye and take care of yourself for me".

Amaani's heart skipped a beat,she started sweating and she felt like going to the toilet at that time,her head too started aching and tears filled her eyes, could this be tears of joy? Only Amaani knows.
Ummu and everyone noticed Amaani's mood and sudden change,so they called her name in unison,she didn't raised her head and looked at them but rather she kept looking at her phone and the message,Amaan noticed that her phone was the cause of everything,so he stood up to her place and quickly grabbed the phone, without hesitation she gave him,he checked the message thoroughly,he then smiled and said to his worried parents that it's nothing to worry about, Ummu said to Amaan that they have to be worried because they didn't know what it is that happened to their child, Ummu pleaded with Amaan to tell her what happened while Abbu too was sitted waiting for it, Ummu got tired of pleading and shouted at Amaan in an angry voice and said to him; would you pass me the phone and tell me what is going on or you would like to receive a cheek warming terrible slap before telling me what's wrong? Do you think someone would cry without something bordering them or do you think i am mad that I would leave you all to do things and decide by yourselves? You two must be insane!! She banged upon the table and said to them; I have been noticing you two,you all want to be doing things and decide by yourselves right? You all listen to me..I won't take such nonsense again from you foolish children,okay?? They answered in a shaky voice and apologized to her, Abbu was tired of apologizing and comforting his wife so he asked the children to keep quiet and he went out of the dining room. Ummu cooled down and sat back on the chair,she checked the message thoroughly and raised up her head and looked at the children and asked; who is this? Where do you guys meet? Is this the reason why you are crying? Is this the reason why you changed suddenly? She turned to Amaan and said; weldone Amaani's supporter, kudos to you! More grease to your elbows for trying to hide this from me,so I am worth hiding something from right? I don't think you take me as your own very mother, Ummu quickly walked out of the dining room,Amaani and Amaan looked at each other speechless,they at the same time followed Ummu behind, Ummu went straight to Abbu to where he was sitting watching television but his mind wasn't on the TV he was watching, he was deep in his thoughts,she sat opposite him and said; Abbu I think you're supporting this children,you didn't say a word since I started talking and you even went out of the dining room without saying a word. Abbu cleared his throat and said; Maryam,you didn't wait for the kids to explain everything, you didn't know the cause of it,but you started shouting,what do you expect me to do? Sit and be watching you shouting pointlessly? That's the reason I went out,I know that you'll come to me. The children who have been hearing their parents, moved into the sitting room and sat down on the floor beside Abbu,they apologized to Abbu,he said that they've done nothing to him,the apologized to Ummu,but she looked away and nodded Yes,they went to their mother and hugged her tightly but she didn't hugged back, Amaani who started crying said in her crying shaky voice; Ummu we are very sorry, please don't turn your back on us,we only have you and Abbu, Ummu you are a mother you shouldn't do this to us,we love you,please don't turn your face from us,our lives would be ruined, Ummu please accept our apologies. Ummu who was strong today and didn't cry, said; apologies accepted, you two should be good children huh? They all said Yes in unison and hugged her again and she hugged back.
Amaani took her bath and wore an Atamfa A-shaped gown,and wore a matching cap,she went to Amaan where he was sitting in Ummu's parlour and sat next to him, their arms brushing each other,they talked about the message,the guy and the day they met and he told her his other side of story and she promised him that she would help him find his love,they agreed for each other's support, Ummu has being looking at them,she felt bad for not supporting her children as always,she noticed that they are self dependent for just a day that she took away her head from them,she felt sorry for them for not supporting them today,but she still saw her children happy,confident and independent which made her feel more bad than before. She promised to apologise to them.
In a blink of an eye it was evening,they all prayed maghrib and Isha and were eating, they were all silent while eating, everyone was not in the mood to talk, Ummu cleared her throat and said; Amaani and Amaan I'm sorry for what happened earlier today,I was mad at you two earlier ago,I'm sorry once more,the children said to their mother that it's Okay, she shouldn't worry about it, everything is okay. Ummu thanked and hugged them and Abbu joined them in a group hug,they chatted for sometime before they said goodnight to each other.
Amaani's phone beeped a message and she read it out to herself,

"Dear beautiful,I hope you are good? Ive been wanting to call you but I'll leave it for tomorrow, take good care of yourself for me and you, goodnight".

Amaani felt for him and the message and she can't wait for him to call her in the morning because she is craving his voice very well. She can't wait to tell Amaan in the morning because he is now her best friend. She slept happily.
