Chapter Forty One

Tears filled my eyes when he pulled out the ring. It was a rose gold Reina diamond engagement ring. "Yes. Absolutely yes!" My hand shook as he slid the ring onto my finger then kissed me. I kissed back, tears rolling down my cheeks. I didn't care if I was "too young" or if "we were rushing it", I was beyond happy. "I love you so much Ric." I held him close as he wrapped his arms around me. "I love you so much more Vi."

Our waiter dropped off our food. "Congratulations." He smiled, Ric and I turned around. All of the workers were applauding, making us blush. "Do you need anything else?" We shook our heads no. "Well enjoy." So we started to eat, it was incredible.

"How's your steak?" I inquired Ric as I took a bite of my salad. "It's wonderful but it's nowhere near as delicious as my own personal dessert." He winked, making me blush instantly because I knew exactly what he meant. "How's the salad?" "It's really good." Ric smiled at me as our eyes met.

"So anything for dessert?" Our waiter came back after we finished eating. "Yeah, we'll share the baked cheesecake." "Right away Mr. Saltzman." After our waiter walked away, Ric took hold of my left hand. "The ring looks stunning on you, Vi." "Thank you. I absolutely love it." He grinned, "Good, I'm glad. I'm so glad you said yes." "Why wouldn't I have said yes? I've never felt this way about anyone before and I love you more than I can say." Ric smiled even more, "I love you just the same Violet."

The baked cheesecake was so delicious, by far the best cheesecake I've ever had. "So how's the birthday boy?" I giggled after we left the restaurant. "I am still in shock that you made reservations and bought me this amazing watch." He kissed my cheek. "Read the card when we get in the car since it's very personal." "Okay." He held me close when we sat down on a bench. I rested my head on his shoulder as he rubbed my arm. "Tonight has been perfect, thank you Vi." I smiled up at him, "You deserve it, Ric. I love you so much." He softly kissed my forehead. "I love you so much too Violet."
