Our wedding reception was at my parents house since they had a huge backyard. They had a large table set up and had a Spotify playlist going. Dinner was steak, salad and garlic bread.

Before we ate, people gave toasts. First were my parents. "Oh Violet, you grew up too fast but you're always going to be our little girl. We love you." Mom spoke up, "Also, welcome to the family Ric." Everyone chuckled.

Next was Damon, "I've known Ric since we were both in college. This guy is freakishly smart and a great dude. Stefan and I are proud to call him our nonbiological brother. Don't hurt Violet, she's a keeper."

Finally we had Sarah, "There's so much I could say. V, you are the sweetest person in all of existence. Every single person you meet is touched by your amazingness. We've been best friends since we were three and here you are getting married thirteen years later. I love you sis. And Ric, you better treat her like the queen she is."

After all of the toasts, it was time to eat. It was absolutely delicious. I looked over at Ric, "May I have this dance?" He was standing behind me. "Of course."

As we started to dance, our song came on. It was I Get To Love You by Ruelle. The song we danced to the night he proposed.  He spun me around as we glided on the diy stage. I looked up at him and he looked at me. "I love you so much Alaric Saltzman." He smiled, "And I love you so much too Violet Saltzman." He lifted my chin, sealing our love with a loving, passionate kiss.
