Chapter Thirteen

"Mom, it's a field trip for class. It's not like I'm skipping school to go goof off at the grille or anything." I was holding the permission slip in my hand. "And you promise you didn't just go to the library after class and typed this yourself." I rolled my eyes slightly, "I promise mom. Besides, would I seriously do that? I'm a goody two shoes, remember?" Mom sighed before taking the paper from my hand and read it to herself. She reread it multiple times before signing it and handing it back to me. "Please.. just be safe Violet." I nodded, "I will be, don't worry."

I went upstairs as I texted Sarah.

Me: heyy u ready for our field trip tomorrow? 😂

Sarah: Hell yea I am 😂 we won't have any other classes since it's an all day trip

Me: that gives you plenty of time to make out with elijah 😂😂

Sarah: omg shut up! 😂😂

Me: neverrr u won't ever hear the end of this 😂😂

We ended up texting for a while before Sarah had to go eat dinner so I used that time to text Ric.

Me: hi handsome 😊

Ric: Hi gorgeous 😘

Me: whatcha doin'? 🥰

Ric: Boring paperwork 😒

Me: aw, I'm sorry. would you rather do me instead?😉

I couldn't believe what I responded with. What the heck was I thinking? Clearly nothing. He probably thinks I'm crazy now. I internally scolded myself.

Ric: Yes actually.

Me: if only.

Ric: Where do you live?

I couldn't believe it, he handled that so well. What the heck? I sent him my address.

Me: what are you planning Ric?

Ric: You'll see around 11pm. Back to work for me. I love you Violet.

Me: have funnn. I love you too Ric.

After finishing up my homework and eating dinner, I took a long shower. Since I didn't know what to expect when Ric said he would see me around 11, I shaved my legs until there not a single hair left. Afterwards I braided my hair into a milkmaid braid and left my baby hairs out and put on my favorite silk and lace nightgown.

"Violet?" My parents were at my door, since I didn't want them seeing my pjs, I put on my silk robe then opened the door. "Yeah?" I stepped aside as they walked in. "Is everything okay?" I asked, hugging my robe closed. "Everything is fine, sweetie. We just wanted to let you know that we're going out of town for a little over a week since it's our anniversary on Saturday." I sat down on my bed, "When are you leaving and coming home?" "We're leaving on Friday and will be back Monday." Dang, I had ten days to do whatever I wanted. "Oh okay." My parents kissed my forehead. "You'll be okay, right?" My dad looked concerned. "Dad I'm sixteen. I'm pretty sure I can handle myself." I chuckled. My parents said their goodnights and I stared at my clock. Just an hour left until I see Ric. I wonder what he's planning.
