Description: Justin and Frankie are two boys that go to schools in different towns. They don't know each other that well besides the fact that their parents are dating and about to be married. Frankie is a quiet teenage boy that keeps to himself for the most part. Justin is an average teenage boy except less annoying. After Frankie's mom and Justin's dad get married, there are a few changes. Frankie and his mom move in with Justin and his dad, and Frankie switches to Justin's school. Life goes smoothly after that, or that's what Justin thinks until he begins to notice things. Frankie often has bruises, red marks, or scratch marks on his body. Usually his face. He also notices that Frankie gets yelled at by his mom a lot when he doesn't seem to do anything wrong. He never comes home from school with new marks, but he often goes to school with new marks. Justin has a bad feeling but when he asks Frankie about it he says it's nothing. One day Justin sees what's going on. And it is definitely not nothing. (Around 7800 words.)

Justin's POV

"So when are they moving in again?"

"This Saturday."

"The day before the wedding? Seriously?"

My dad rolled his eyes, "Calm down, you won't have to do anything if you don't want to. Marge and Franklin will get settled in as much as they can Saturday. While Marge and I are gone on our honeymoon, Franklin will get settled and his mom's things unpacked. All you have to be is nice and hospitable."

This time I rolled my eyes at him, "What do you take me for? An asshole?"

He smiled and punched my arm lightly, "You can be."

I laughed, "Thanks, dad. So I guess I should probably be here on Saturday in case I need to help?"

He shrugged, "That's up to you. I mean it's not like they're soon going to be your step-mom and step-brother or anything."

"You really think reverse psychology is gonna work on me?"

He shrugged, smiling innocently as he grabbed plates, "Dinner's ready."

I laughed and dished up.

I love my dad, he is sarcastic as hell and he's really cool.

Of course, I'll be here on Saturday to help Marge and Franklin move in. I'm not sure how I feel about them moving in, but we'll be family in three days so it doesn't really matter. I don't know them very well. We have spent some time together but it was always awkward. Especially because I can already tell Franklin is a very quiet person. When my dad or I tried to talk to him he seemed really nervous and unsure of himself. He did talk when someone said something to him, he didn't just ignore us, but he didn't say much. I don't mind that though. I'd rather my new step-brother be quiet than loud and annoying. When our parents go on their honeymoon, we'll be home alone together for like ten days. We'll have school to fill in most days but it'll still be weird. I hope he can cook... otherwise there will be a lot of ramen and takeout in our future.

"That's the last box!" Marge said enthusiastically as she set the box she was holding down on the kitchen table.

"Great! Now, how about I make us some lunch, and then we can work on getting you guys settled in?"

I smiled and perked up at the mention of food, "Ooh, what're you gonna make?"

My dad laughed, "Don't get so excited. I was just gonna make some sandwiches."

"Sad."

He rolled his eyes at me then smiled at Marge and Franklin, "What kind of sandwiches would you guys like? We have ham, turkey, peanut butter, jelly, salami."
