Grant's POV

Oh my God, what a fucking day. My mom's new boyfriend is trying to sweet-talk his way to the top, I know what he really wants to do though. He just wants to say he fucked the most dangerous woman around. My mom knows that too, she just likes playing with men. My father was one of them, he got mysteriously killed before he could go bragging about getting my mom pregnant though. My mom is a hard woman, but I believe she'll find a guy who actually cares about her. Someone she will be able to let her guard down around, besides me and my aunt.

"Excuse me!"

"Fuck off," I yelled back at whoever the hell just shouted at me.

I was busy scrolling through my phone trying to see if the scumbag posted any of my mom's info online. Guys try to do that occasionally, and my mom isn't tech-savvy so she has me make sure nothing bad happens on social media.

Suddenly there were arms wrapped around me and I was yanked back, my phone falling out of my hands. As I fell -in what felt like slow motion- I watched my phone fall onto the tracks of the subway, and a second later get crushed by the train speeding by. Then I felt myself fall back onto whoever just saved my life.

After the train stopped, I turned around and saw a boy my age. He actually looked vaguely familiar.

He was panting, "Y-you gotta watch where you're going."

After I got over my shock, I stood up and held my hand out to help him up too. He accepted it.

When we were both up I shook his hand, "Thank you for saving me."

He nodded, "Yeah, of course. Watch where you're walking next time alright?"

"What's your name?" I asked, taking out a piece of paper and pencil from my jacket.

"What are you, a reporter?" He asked while taking a step back.

I shook my head, "No, the opposite actually. Name?"

"Collin Daniels," he said, looking me up and down.

I wrote it down then put my paper and pencil back in my jacket, "Thanks again."

With that, I stepped onto the train that almost flattened me, and the doors closed. I watched as the boy got farther from me as the train left, confusion evident on his face.

You, my friend, just made the no-harm list.

Collin's POV

"Mom! I'm home!" I yelled, knowing she heard me but was too tired to yell back.

I set my bag down and brought her soup up to her room.

She smiled, "Hi sweety, how was your day?"

I shrugged and handed her her food, "Fine. I met this weirdo who wasn't looking where he was going and almost fell in front of the train. I had to pull him back."

"Oh, sounds like an eventful day."

I nodded and sat down next to her, scrolling through the tv channels.

My mom has been sick this week so I've just been chilling with her after school, taking care of her.

"So... was the weirdo cute?"

I rolled my eyes and laughed as I looked over at my mom's sly grin, "Mom!"

"What? I was just asking."

I smiled at her trying to act innocent, "Maybe he was, so what?"

She smiled wider as she swallowed her soup, "Well, did you get his phone number? His name at least?"
