Message - Kade & Ash

Description: Kade Alberts is your average gay teenager. He isn't a nerd and he sure as hell isn't popular, he's somewhere in the middle. Ash Lynn is a whole other story. As a closeted but still questioning popular basketball star, he isn't very average. When you get a look inside his mind. At their school, being queer (lgbtq+) isn't a bad thing. In fact, lots of popular kids are out. There are trans guys on the football team, and trans girls on the cheer squad and all sorts of bi and gay guys and gals. Also pan and ace but not as common. It's common for everyone to know everyone's sexuality and personal information like that. Anyone that hasn't "come out" gets questioned or talked about. People have to come out even if it's as straight and/or cisgender. Especially if they are popular. This puts Ash in a complicated position when even he isn't one hundred percent sure of his identity. Maybe Kade can help though. Maybe they can help each other. (Around 3500 words)

Kade's POV

Yesterday started like any other. I woke up, got dressed, brushed my teeth, ate breakfast. I went to school, embarrassed myself in my gym class, and went home. Except I didn't notice during my gym that I got a notification. Actually, I didn't notice until almost midnight. And let's say, I was a bit creeped out at first. Until he told me his name.

*1:28 pm* (yesterday)

?- Hey

*11:58 pm* (yesterday)

K- Um, hi? I think you might have the wrong number

*8:00 am* (today)

?- You're Kade Alberts, right?

K- Um... yes. Who are you? I don't have this number in my phone

?- Yeah that's not surprising. Uh I got your number from Jake

K- Of course he'd give someone my number

?- Lol

K- Um so what's your name?

?- Right, sorry. Um, Ash. Asher Lynn

K- Oh

A- Lol why the 'oh'?

K- Um just... why would you want my number? Did you want it or did Jake just give it to you?

A- Lol actually I asked him for your number. You seem cool and I wanted to get to know you better. Is that alright?

K- Yeah, of course. I was just confused haha

A- Yeah, I would be too

A- Sorry

K- It's okay. So what's up?

A- Nothing much. I have basketball practice in a little but I thought I'd work up the courage to text you first lol

K- Why do you need courage? It's just unpopular me lol

A- That will remain a mystery

K- Lol, whatever, mystery boy

A- ;)

K- Hmm... you're making me think things

A- What could you be referring to?
