Trans Short - Adam & Lane

Description: The shortest story I'll probably ever write. Adam is trans, Lane is Adam's best friend. This is their story through small scenes. (Around 700 words.)

"Psst."

Lane looked over at his friend, "Yeah?"

"I'm trans."

"Why are you whispering and stating the obvious?"

"..."

Lane clapped him on the back, "I accept you, bro."

"Could you start calling me 'Adam'?"

"Sure, man. In public or just when we're alone?"

Adam thought for a minute, "Everywhere."

**

"What's on your face?"

"Bruise."

"What happened?"

"I asked my mom if I could get my hair cut short and she smacked me."

Lane grabbed Adam's wrist and took him to the nurse's office to get some ointment for the bruise.

"Woah!" Lane said in amazement as he ruffled up Adam's newly cut-short hair.

Adam smiled, "I know, right?"

"Your mom let you cut it?"

"No, Jinny's boyfriend's dad is a barber and he cut my hair for me."

"Sweet."

"Can you come with me this weekend to go to Jinny's boyfriend's house to get some of his old clothes?"

"Too awkward to go alone?"

"Yup."

"Sure, man."

**

"Your mom hit you again?"

"Yeah, she said she's sick of my shit."

Lane shook his head, "I'm sorry, man."

Adam shrugged.

**

"Notice anything different about me?"

Lane looked at Adam for a minute before shaking his head.

Adam jumped, "Anything now?"

"No?"

Adam smiled, "I'm flat!"

Lane smiled too, "You got a binder?"

"Jinny got it for me as an early birthday present."

"You look really masculine, bro, I'm happy for you."

"Thank you," Adam said beaming.

"Adam?"

"My mom found out I started asking people to use male pronouns for me and she kicked me out for a week... can I stay here?"

Lane grabbed Adam's backpack, "You don't even need to ask. Come on in."

"I've started saving."

"For what?"

"Transitioning."

"If you ever need any help, I'm here for you."

"Thanks, Lane."

**

"Adam?..."

"Yeah?"

"I think I've fallen in love with you..."

Adam smiled and kissed Lane's cheek, "I love you too."

Both boys blushed.

**

"Happy birthday, babe!"

"Thank you!"

"I have a surprise for you."

"What is it?"

"Close your eyes."

After Adam closed his eyes, Lane took a ring out of his pocket and put it on Adam's right ring finger.

Adam opened his eyes, "What's this?"

"It's my promise to you that I will always be by your side, through your transition and the rest of our lives."

Tears fell out of Adam's eyes and he hugged Lane, "I love you so much."

"I love you more."

"Wow. We just graduated. That actually happened."

"We're free."

"Wow," both boys said in unison.

**

"So?" Lane asked in anticipation as Adam walked into their apartment.

Adam smiled, "April thirtieth."

Lane ran to Adam and lifted and spun him in a hug, "I'm so happy for you!"

"How are you feeling?"

"Nervous and excited."

Lane held Adam's hand tighter, "No need to be nervous. The surgery is going to go smoothly and when you'll wake up, you'll be high as hell, and flat."

Adam smiled, "I know... I can't wait."

**

Adam couldn't contain his tears as he was finally able to take all of the bandages and wrappings off... and he saw himself. His flat, hill-less chest. Finally. After so many years.

Lane smiled as he shed a few tears himself, watching his fiance awing over his transformation.

"The grooms may now kiss."

Both men heard clapping around them. But all they could focus on were their handsome husbands as they kissed for the first time while married.

They pulled away slightly but kept their foreheads together, "Thank you."

"For what?"

"For always being by my side."

Lane kissed Adam's nose, "I wouldn't have wanted it any other way."

*So this was a new writing style I wanted to try. My friend @123jaxbook made a story in a similar fashion in her short story book. It was super adorable so I wanted to try it! I hope you all liked it!
