Richard shook his head rapidly. "No, no, Bonita, liste—"
"You were just using me to piss him off!" she accused.
"Let me expla—" His words were cut off when the diamond that had been adorning her finger just a second ago bounced off his face, nearly poking his eye.
"Fuck you!" She turned to walk away as he bent down to pick up the ring and when he looked back up, Eduardo already had a consoling arm around her, guiding her towards his car. A sight he refused to let slide.
"Sofia, mi amor. You have to hear my side of things 'cus I don't know what the fuck this asshole told you, or didn't tell you!" Richard demanded after catching up to yank her out of Eduardo's arm.
"I heard plenty from your side!" she pointed out, pushing him off, but went he insisted on grabbing her against her will, Eduardo stepped in to help pull her away.
"Man, fuck off!" Richard shoved him furiously.
"You fuck off!" Eduardo shoved him back.
Sofia only stood there wallowing in heartbreak and disappointment, her heart on the floor being stomped on as she watched the two shoving each other around. She did nothing to stop it from escalating. They could kill each other for all she cared.
She didn't even get to see who threw in the first punch. Her priority was squeezing her way out of the crowd that surrounded them to cheer on the fight. She didn't want to stand there another second and see how one of the worst days of her life was the highlight of everyone else's.
