"Mama, I found a man
who loves me and understands.
He adores me, he's my biggest fan.

I know he's not perfect in your eyes,
but somehow he's flawless in mine.

You see a monster,
I see a smile.
You say it's danger and I'm in denial,
but somehow I feel so safe right now."

Eduardo waited out by the door as everyone walked out of 6th period and grasped Daphne's arm on her way out, turning her to him. Juan was right behind her and Eduardo wasn't sure if they had only made it to the door at the same time or if they had made it there together. Regardless, he was glad he didn't stick around to wait for her and carried on down the hallway.

In the meantime, Daphne stared at the origami rose in his hand that he had made with Luigi's help and almost began to smile, ready to accept it.

But instead of handing it to her, he sternly asked that she quit giving Annie mean looks. "She and I are just friends, so calm down. Not that you even have a right to complain if we were more being that you're jumping from David to Juan."

That let her know he had seen Juan holding her hand before class started but she was too flustered over him defending Annie to bother denying it. "Whatever." She tried to walk off but he continued to hold her back.

"Also, what the hell did you mean about borrowing your mom's car?"

"Last I checked, we're not supposed to get personal and that's none of your business, so..." she spat his own medicine at him.

"It is my business when you're risking my baby's life behind the wheel. You don't even know how to drive."

"I do, actually. David taught me," she admitted vindictively, hoping it would grind his gears as much as he was grinding hers.

And it worked. He didn't know what to say to that other than, "When?"

"While you were in Mexico... and at work." She knew as soon as she said it that the confession wouldn't help to mend his trust whatsoever. That it would make him wonder how many other things she'd been keeping from him and what else she was doing while sneaking around with David. But in the heat of the moment, she didn't care.
