"Life is funny, isn't it?
Just when you think
you've got it all figured out,
just when you finally
begin to plan something,
get excited about it
and feel like you know
what direction you're heading in,
the paths change,
the signs change,
the wind blows the other way,
north is suddenly south,
and east is west, and you're... lost."
David: come outside
Daphne: why?
David: lets hang out
drive around a bit
I miss uDaphne: have u seen what time it is?
David: yea..
too long since i last saw u
come on.. sneak out for meDaphne looked over at Eduardo dozed off next to her and then back at David's last text, contemplating the idea. She couldn't deny that she had missed him too, even though they had just hung out earlier that day.
She rolled gently to the edge of the bed and managed to step out of it without waking Eduardo. She slipped on her checkered Vans without changing out of her pajamas, certain that Eduardo would hear her.
David was leaning against his car in the driveway when she quietly escaped out the front door. His face lit up the moment he saw her and she couldn't get enough of that smile, especially knowing she was the sole reason behind it.
He opened the driver's side for her and she hopped in excitedly. "Where do I take us?" she asked after he plopped in the passenger seat.
"Wherever you wanna go."
"Hm... can I take us for a ride on the freeway?" David gave her a look that quickly made her chuckle and say, "Just kidding."
He hadn't let her go on the freeway for many reasons. Mainly because the speed limit there was too fast for a pregnant girl that was still just learning how to maneuver a vehicle. "Let's go to the park," he suggested.
