"My education smiles at you,
but in that brief moment,
my intellect has already
sent you to hell a thousand times."
-David SantThe next day, Daphne felt she had no choice but to tell David the truth about her incident with Eduardo at the party, since Eduardo had already mentioned 'Batgirl' to him.
"So you knew it was him and you went for it anyway?" David scowled as they strolled through a local park together. "Why?"
She shrugged bashfully. "I don't know. I was curious... so I took advantage of the situation."
"Curious of what?"
"Well at first, I was planning to tell him who I was but then he said he's been told he's a good kisser so... my curiosity peaked." She could feel her cheeks burn as she explained.
David's jaw clenched before asked, "Was he good?"
The automatic smile adorning her face pretty much answered it.
"Ugh," was all he could say.
Daphne narrowed her eyes at him. "What?"
"You like him..." he grumbled.
"What? No, I barely even know him."
"You don't have to know someone to like them. It doesn't always work that way. Sometimes a few words and stares will do. Just admit it." He hated admitting it himself.
"Okay fine... so I might like him a little... why is that so upsetting?" she queried, noting how unhappy he seemed towards the idea.
"Look Daphne, I can't exactly tell you why, but don't get your hopes up, or you'll only end up getting hurt. Trust me."
Daphne stared at him bewildered. "I thought he was a good guy."
"He is... but right now's not a good time to like him like that."
"Why?"
"Just 'cause. Like I said, I can't tell you. But it won't be long until everyone, including you, knows it. Just be patient... and be careful."
