Sofia's jaw hung to the floor. Eva begrudgingly looked away.
Enrique sat there frozen and perplexed. He could only bring himself to look away but the longer the kiss lasted and he continued to sit there rigidly, the more awkward it became.
Just as Enrique was deciding to get up and leave, David paused the kiss to rudely ask him, "Do you mind?"
"Uh... yea... sorry..." The way Enrique clumsily stood up and left all flustered up was cringe-worthy.
Eva sympathized for Enrique, feeling embarrassed for him. Sofia on the other hand, still had her mouth wide open as she started roaring with laughter.
Inez pushed David off as soon as Enrique was gone. "What the hell are you doing?!"
"Helping you." He smiled triumphantly as he motioned his eyes to the empty chair Enrique had been occupying. "You're welcome."
She searched around for Enrique but couldn't spot him anywhere. "David!" She punched his shoulder. "That was rude!"
"You know you wanted him to go away."
"Yea, but you could've just called me over or asked me to dance. You didn't have to kiss me!"
"Relax and trust me. With this kiss, Enrique will know to back off. He won't be bothering you anymore. You'll see." He shot her an arrogant wink and stood up to leave back to the dance floor.
Inez brought her fingertips to her lips. She could still feel David's on there and she mindlessly smiled. "Wow..." she muttered under her breath.
Eva and Sofia instantly rushed to her side.
"I cannot believe what I just saw!" Sofia exclaimed through her laughter.
"Believe me, I was shocked as hell too!" Inez kept scanning the room for Enrique until she finally spotted him standing by the DJ booth with Daniel.
Sofia was avidly expressing her thoughts about the whole kiss with David but Inez wasn't really paying attention. She was lost in her own little world when Sofia snapped her fingers in her face. "Damn, David left you all dazed!"
"He sure did," Inez admitted with a chuckle. "I mean... that was..."
"Yummy?" Sofia finished the sentence for her.
"No... I mean, yea it was, but I was gonna say... that was my first kiss." She could feel a puddle of blood warming her cheeks.
Sofia's jaw dropped at the realization. "Oh my god! That's right! I completely forgot. Bitch, you should have told me that when I asked you to kiss Enrique. Your first kiss is supposed to be special! Enrique would have definitely killed it! Well, now I'm glad David butted in to at least give you a good one! I can't believe you were about to let Enrique do it!"
"I only agreed to it because I really want to know what's going on between you and my brother."
Sofia's keen grin diminished as she remembered their deal.
"Something's up with you two. I know it. You guys have been way too close lately. You always want to be in private. And I know for a fact he likes Daphne by the way he smiles and looks at her, but whenever you're around he's not the same with her. Like he's hiding it from you or something."
Sofia glared at her and inevitably snapped. "He doesn't like the bitch! Okay? She's just some stranger that came out of nowhere. Lalo's just a nice guy, always being friendly with everyone."
"Geez! Okay, calm down. Why're you getting all riled up?"
Sofia responded with an eye-roll and crossed her arms.
