"It's not what we left behind
that breaks me.
It's what we could've built
had we stayed."

The next day was uneventful as Daphne spent the first half of the day with Eduardo, both being absolute homebodies in his room, enjoying a relaxing Sunday before having to start that school routine again the following day. They only came out of their room to use the bathroom or to pick up their lunch delivery at the door. But once Eduardo had to leave to work, Daphne stayed caved inside until David picked her up for a driving session.

"I really like driving." Daphne smiled behind the wheel. "It's actually fun. Or I don't know if it's because I still get a little tense here and there with the traffic, but it really takes my mind off things. Well, not as much as soccer does but I can't play that for now."

"No, you just like being with me," David pointed out arrogantly as he scrolled through his Spotify list.

"Yea, that too," she admitted, paying him a quick beaming glance.

He smiled and set his phone down after choosing his J. Cole playlist. "Driving is fun at first but it gets boring and tiring after a few months."

"Tiring how? You literally just sit here."

"I don't know, it just does. Wait for the day you have to sit in traffic after a long day, anxious to get home and relax but every light keeps turning red so your foot is constantly holding that brake pedal and every car in front of you happens to drive like a grandpa. Then you'll see what I mean."

"Yea, I guess that does sound kinda tedious." She let out a sigh as they grew silent and David kept changing songs. "By the way, you haven't told anyone you're teaching me to drive, right?"

"No," he said too soon before remembering, "Oh shit, actually, yea. I told Eva a while ago."

"David!!" she whined, wanting to smack his arm but maintained both hands on the wheel.

"It's fine. She won't say anything. Besides, what's the big deal if people know?"

"I don't want it to get to Eddy's ears. He'll worry and he has enough on his plate. Plus, I know he'll be totally against this if he knew I was learning to drive while his baby is growing in my uterus."
