"I'm an acquired taste—
not for everybody,
but for the ones that get me.
I will give you all of me, all the time." -Jhene Aiko

Later that night, Sofia scrolled through pictures of her and Eduardo on her phone. Every picture prompted its backstory from her memory. The way he'd always put his arm around her, basically out of habit, any time he noticed the camera pointed at them. The way she always laughed at his stupid hand pose with his thumb and pinky sticking out, otherwise known as the Shaka sign. She never failed to see it as a telephone sign and she would elbow him all the time asking, "Who're you asking to call you?"

"All my bitches that are gonna see this picture," he would reply back smartly, making Sofia roll her eyes in amusement knowing he had no 'bitches'.

He wasn't David, whose contact list was filled with ridiculous names such as, 'Slut Frm Xmas Party', 'Starbucks Blonde', 'Girl Eva Says I Fckd But Can't Remember', 'Volleyball Puta', 'The Choke Me Freak', and Sofia's personal favorite of all time – 'THE DEVIL! DON'T ANSWER!'

In fact, she'd never forgotten how David had cheated on her with – 'Ditz In Algebra'.

As she thought about David's contact list, she laughed to herself remembering what her own contact name had been while they were dating: 'My One&Only'.

Yea fucking right, Sofia thought to herself. She was glad she could laugh about it now as if it hadn't shattered her heart to pieces when she'd found out that name was nothing but a big joke.

It wasn't long after his betrayal that she began to fall in love with Eduardo, the one that had always been there for her to cheer her up and listen to. Except he had his own girlfriend at the time. The pesky bookworm, Daniela, whose corny references to novels Sofia couldn't stand.

As soon as Daniela had left the picture—their picture—Sofia mulled over how to tell Eduardo, her lifelong best friend, that she had inexplicable feelings for him. But when he'd proclaimed and promised that he had given up on love one drunken night, days after Daniela's betrayal, Sofia realized that sharing her feelings with him, at a time when he was too stubborn to understand them, would either get her nowhere or drive him to push her away.
