As soon as he ended the kiss, Eduardo turned to see if Daphne was still there and while he searched around for her, Annie gaped at him in a shocked trance.
With no sign of Daphne anywhere, Eduardo looked back to Annie and suddenly realized what he had just done. His lips parted, astonished by his own impulsive behavior. "Fuck," he breathed out. "I'm really sorry."
"Do you always randomly kiss girls when you're single?"
"No... umm..." He lifted a hand to his nape, feeling awkward as ever. "Look, I'm really sorry. It's just... I saw Daphne and David kissing just now and then she happened to look this way and I wanted to spite her right back and show her she wasn't the only one moving on already. I'm really, really sorry."
He sounded sincere, so she agreed to brush it off but not without warning, "Just don't let it happen again 'cus I will slap you the next time."
He nodded quickly and they walked over to a table where they could get a head start on their math homework for a few minutes.
