"I live in a world
full of people for a moment.
Once in a while,
there are people for always.
Like you."

The second time wasn't any less painful than the first. If anything, Inez began to wonder why everyone always made it sound like sex magically felt better once that first time was done and over with.

"Do you want me to stop?" Enrique gathered from the way her face was scrunched in pain, making her peel her eyes open.

She let out the breath she was holding and loosened the solid grip on his shoulders. "No, no. I'm fine," she promised him.

His shoulder-length hair hung at the sides of his face as he hovered over her, staring dubiously. "You don't look like you're enjoying it..."

She stared back at him for a silent second, cursing at herself for not being able to mask her discomfort, especially when he wasn't the problem whatsoever. The last thing she wanted was to shoot his ego down by making him feel like he wasn't good.

If anyone sucked at this, it was she and her inability to push through the pain and take it like a big girl. "I'm sorry. It's not you. It's just that... it still hurts... a little more than it did the first time, to be honest," she admitted abashedly. "I think maybe I'm still a little too sore from then."

He sighed out apologetically, gently slipping himself.

"No, wait. What are you—?"

"Why didn't you tell me?" Enrique lied on his back beside her. "We didn't have to do it, you know? We could have just hung out."

"No, I know," she asserted quickly. "I wanted to do it. I just didn't know it was going to keep hurting like this. I'm sorry."

He turned his head to her, shaking it reassuringly. "Don't be sorry. I'm not an asshole. I get it."

"I know." She looked up to the ceiling, holding the bed sheet over her chest. "But I want you to understand it's not your fault. I'm just being a little bitch about it."
