Becoming the Hunter (Story 2 - Part 2)

With Venno: 

The Velociraptor had just finished washing the blood off her arms and jaws. 

She had to admit, Jake was probably one of the best plumber/electricians she had ever met. 

Even though he was actually the only plumber/electrician she had met. 

Venno sighed, exiting the bathroom and walking over to the sofa Jake and Arachnè were both sitting. 

“Come on. I should probably be heading back down to that Wolf Hound” said Venno, feeling a little nervous, but managed to hide it from the two Spiders.

The two nodded, standing up as they followed Venno out of her room. 

“Yeah, and I gotta get back to my bar. I left the bar with only a few patrons while I came to see what had happened. I had a feeling it had something to do with you, so I came to see if everything was alright” said Arachnè, taking a cigarette box out of thin air and taking one out of the box, swiftly lighting it as the box disappeared. 

She had waited to leave Venno’s room before smoking, not wanting to make the room smell like cigarette smoke. 

Jake nodded. 

“Yeah, and I gotta get back to my garage. Gotta get to the Mafia boss’ base to fix the lighting, again. Thanks for returning my wrench, though” said Jake, smiling as the three got into the now functional elevator, going down to the ground floor before exiting the casino. 

Venno smiled as she turned to the two. 

“Thanks for the support. I should probably go see what they want” said Venno, glancing behind her and seeing the area around the dead Rooster taped off with several denizens wearing mostly dark colors. Some were talking on their phones while others were writing some stuff down on their clipboards. 

At least four of them were standing around the taped off body, guarding it and keeping denizens away. 

“Alright. You take care, then, you here? Come by the bar when you get the chance” said Arachnè, smiling as she patted Venno’s shoulder reassuringly before turning and walking across the street.

Jake nodded in agreement.

“Yeah. Take care, will ya?” said Jake, smiling as he turned and began walking down the street, waving her off. 

“Thanks. I will” called Venno, waving back before sighing. 

She turned and walked over to two denizens talking, one of them being the Wolf Hound. 

“I got the blood cleaned off me” said Venno, coming to stand in front of the two. 

The Wolf Hound perked up, nodding. 

“Good. Our boss is going to be here soon. He usually runs late...like every other time…” said the Wolf Hound, scowling and muttering the last part.  

The other denizen he had been talking to, a short Pomeranian, frowned worriedly. She had tan fur, with a lighter shade for her under muzzle, under portion of her tail, hands, and lower legs. Her hair was curled and blonde, and she had bright blue sclera with brown irises. 

“Don’t say that! He might hear. You know how the boss can get. He’d demote any one of us in a second if he finds out that you failed to bring your bounty in alive for questioning” said the Pomeranian, her ears resting flat against her head, looking a little scared. 

The Wolf Hound sighed in annoyance. 

“I know, but how was I supposed to know SHE was going to kill him!?” exclaimed the Wolf Hound, gesturing a hand over at Venno.
