Mother's Instinct (Story 10 - Part 1)

In Hellis: 

With Queen Pin: 

The forty one year old Voodoo Doll was in a large workroom with several other denizens, all of them being seamstresses as they all worked on their own garment for the upcoming fashion show in Hellis. 

The Voodoo Doll, Queen Pin, had long brown hair that faded into a dark red color. She was wearing a dark red off the shoulder dress that went down to her thighs, the lighter color ruffle around the hem barely hanging on by just a few threads. On her feet, she wore a black heeled boot on one and a red high heel shoe on the other. She also had a single red button eye, wore black lipstick, and had a black left X eye. For jewelry, she was wearing several gold bracelets and a pendant around her neck that was in the shape of a crow skull.

She also had several large pin needles sticking out of parts of her body, despite the fact that she was happily humming a song to herself as she worked, as though she couldn’t feel them. 

As Queen Pin continued to work on the dress she was making, using telepathy to flout all of her sewing supplies nearby so that she may easily reach them, she grabbed a pair of scissors that were floating nearby. 

Laying on the desk at her work station, there were two Flame Cats, one male and the other female. The female was older and magenta in color, while the male was younger and blue in color. 

The Voodoo Doll used the scissors to cut some extra fabric away from the dress she was making before telepathically using a sewing needle to hem the part she just cut. 

It was faster than having to take the garment off of the mannequin and putting it under the sewing machine at her station. 

The large double doors to the room suddenly burst open as the owner of the fashion show came in, causing everyone to jump in fright before relaxing at the sight of her. 

She was a light grey Poodle with large fluffy dark grey fur on her ears and tail. It was dyed bright purple and magenta with gold and green stripes. She was also wearing a purple dress that went down to her thighs with a cutout on her stomach and right hip, and a pair of matching purple thigh high socks. Around her neck, she was wearing white fox fur, the fox head lifting up and glancing around curiously, blinking a few times before returning to its still position.  

“Bonjour, everyone! How are all of my favorite seamstresses doing?” asked the tall Poodle excitedly, walking around the room to see how everyone was doing. 

She had a French accent, and she was the hostess for the fashion shows that she held every year. 

Some muttered their greetings, mostly because they were too busy concentrating on making the difficult parts of their garments while others took the time to look away from theirs and greet the Poodle. 

“Those are all looking marvelous, everyone! Remember, the fashion show will be starting in just a week, so remember to please finish your garmounts on time. Ella, might I suggest doing something with the bodice? Perhaps bead it with pearls to give it that extra texture and shimmer” said the Poodle, walking around the room and looking around at all of the garmounts being made, giving some suggestions to which everyone nodded before getting to work on doing what she suggested. 

Finally making it to the Voodoo Doll, the Poodle gasped and smiled excitedly. 

“That is looking marvelous, Queen Pin! Everyone is going to love your garment” said the Poodle, unable to help but stare in awe at the black and red mermaid dress Queen Pin was working on. 

Queen Pin chuckled, using telepathy to set down her supplies on her desk.

“Thanks, I actually just finished it, and it’s ready to be worn” said the Voodoo Doll proudly, taking pride in her quick work in making the garment.
