The Python's Return (Story 15 - Part 1)

With Venno: 

The Velociraptor was sitting in her usual spot beside Barry at the large round table in the meeting room, all of the Bounty Hunters waiting for Jerry. 

It had only been a few days since Jerry told Keven that he was not fit to be a Bounty Hunter, and the male Velociraptor had nodded in understanding and left. 

Venno couldn’t help but smile when she recalled seeing that same Elementimp that Dexx had told to talk to Keven when they were leaving the dance club waiting in the lobby for Keven, the two leaving together. 

Despite Keven trying to flirt with her, Venno was just happy to see that the male Velociraptor appeared to have finally found someone right for him, even though it was Dexx who gave her the gentle nudge to talk to him. 

Venno’s thoughts then went to Dexx, the Anglerfish having told her he would be staying in the city for a while before leaving, having missed his opportunity to pull off a big heist in order to make sure she was alright. 

The Velociraptor suddenly felt her heart beat louder when she started thinking of the Dexx for the thousandth time in just the last three days, causing her to blush. 

“Alright everyone, not much for me to say today other than you all doing a great job in catching and bringing in bounties. I have got to say, you all might be the best Bounty Hunters I could ever have the honor of working with” said Jerry, the older Spider in a surprisingly good mood as he walked into the room. 

Venno jumped in fright when she heard his voice, causing her to quickly shake her head and hide her blush as she began clapping along with all the other Bounty Hunters who were cheering. 

“Another thing I would like to say is that I would like to congratulate Rapter and Barry for working out their differences and working together as a team as opposed to against each other” said Jerry, the older Spider smiling as he took a seat. 

The other Bounty Hunters clapped once more, some even whistling loudly and shouting their own congratulations to Barry and Venno, causing the two to smile, having been startled by this. 

Taking a quick puff from his cigarette, Jerry slid the pile of folders until they stopped at the center of the table. 

“Now then, you are all free to choose a bounty. Rapter and Barry, I have another one that I would like you both to take care of, so if you don’t mind, I’d like to speak to you both over here” said Jerry, gesturing for the two to come over. 

Confused, Venno and Barry exchanged glances before they shrugged, the two getting up and walking over to where Jerry was seated as the other Bounty Hunters did what they normally did. 

Jerry took a quick puff from his cigarette, his arms crossed as he turned his chair so he was facing the two. 

“Let me guess, you wanted to congratulate us in order to prepare us for working together again on another bounty” said Barry, smirking as he crossed his arms. 

Jerry chuckled, the older Spider shrugging. 

“How’d you know?” asked Jerry jokingly, causing Venno to smile. 

The older Spider took a quick puff from his cigarette before sighing. 

“The only reason why I want you both to go on this one is because it may be difficult for Rapter” said Jerry, now frowning. 

Venno frowned, the Velociraptor tilting her head to the side in confusion. 

“Why do you say that?” asked Venno.
