A Week Ago:

With the Porcelain Monster:

The Porcelain Monster was sitting on the sofa in her family home, the entire house empty and devoid of any other life other than herself.

Her name was Slendithera, and she was about four years younger than her older sister, Venno.

Her mother was mostly gone at work, the seamstress heading out early in the morning and coming home late in the night.

Her father had gone out on another one of his hunting trips saying that he may or may not be back within a few weeks or months. This had been about a month ago, roughly one month after her older sister left home after an altercation she got into with her ex-boyfriend.

And their brother, ever since their older sister left, had started to develop really bad attitude issues. He was constantly getting into fights in school, and when the teachers tried contacting their parents, they were only ever able to get into contact with her to which she would constantly tell them that she would TRY to talk to her parents whenever they were in the same room as her. He would often finish school, and half of the time he would either come home so pissed off he would just lock himself in his room for the rest of the day, or he wouldn’t arrive home until late into the night, sometimes even after their mother came home.

Their brother was only four years younger than her, meaning he shouldn’t be staying out so late!

If they even listen to a word she said, that is.

She understood where they were coming from, though, her parents and brother.

The house was not the same as it once was without Venno around, the Velociraptor being that sort of mediator who tried to help control their arguments in a much more calm manner.

Before she left, having made the decision to move to Terronto due to the fact that she didn’t want to risk running into her ex-boyfriend again, she had reassured her family that she would contact them once she managed to find a place to settle down, even if she just found a reasonably priced hotel to stay in for a few nights.

But she never called.

No email or text, and it wasn’t like Slendithera herself had a cellphone to try and contact her sister with. Only their mother had a cellphone, a decision that the seamstress had made after coming home and finding the family tablet on the floor with shattered glass all around it.

To be fair, thought, their brother had been a fucking menace with that tablet, and he would NOT stop pestering her about it being ‘his turn’ to play video games on it.

Slendithera sighed, the Porcelain Monster hanging her head as she tried to think.

She knew that what she wanted to do was going to make their parents UNIMAGINABLY pissed.

But…

She HAD to know that her sister was alright, and that she wasn’t laying in an alleyway dead.

Or worse, living on the streets with nowhere to go.

Slendithera tapped her finger on her thigh, her sharp porcelain claw making a slight clicking sound on her porcelain body.

She wasn’t fragile, that was for sure. She knew how to fight, and she knew that her sister could too.

Well, scratch that, everyone can literally fight. But there were some denizens out there who preferred living their lives day to day working their jobs and minding their own business.
