Mother's Instinct (Story 10 - Part 5)

With Venno: 

The Velociraptor and her two siblings were seated in the audience, watching the runway show going on. 

Venno had asked her boss, Jerry, if she could take the day off to attend, two which the older Spider allowed her to. It had been a last minute decision to accompany their mother back to Hellis in order to watch the show, wanting to be there to support her like they used to before they moved to Terronto.

Venno glanced over at where her mother was standing, the Voodoo Doll wearing a black dress in her own style like all the other seamstresses who had made something for the fashion show.

Since it was a special occasion for their mother, the three siblings had decided to also wear something to go with the formal dress code. Rad was still wearing his suit and fedora, the Toxic Sludge deciding it was fine for the occasion. Slendithera was wearing a dark purple dress that went down to her thighs, and it was less ripped and tattered than her usual one. Venno was wearing a dark red dress that was the same color as her usual outfit, the dress going down to her thighs and had one long sleeve while the other was off the shoulder with a cutout on the chest.

The models, at least half of them being Mannequin denizens, were all going down the runway one by one, modelling the garmonts they had been assigned. 

A Poodle, the hostess for the fashion show, was introducing each of the garmonts being modelled and saying who had made it. 

So far, Queen Pin’s garment hadn’t yet been modelled, but the three siblings were excited to see what their mother had made, knowing she was one of the best seamstresses they knew. 

“And finally, the look I have been saving for last has been made by a new seamstress who I have the honors of employing. Her talent and skill with a needle, thread and few pieces of fabric has allowed me to see how amazing her work is. This final look was made by Queen Pin, the Voodoo Doll” announced the Poodle, smiling excitedly as the Mannequin denizen wearing the garment walked down the runway before doing some poses, showing every angle of the dress. 

It was a simple black mermaid dress with off the shoulder sleeves, the main accent of the garment being the large and fluffy fur jacket that hung halfway down the model’s arms. The fabric was covered in small black pearls and gems, giving the dress a shimmer effect whenever the model turned. 

“Wow, mom really outdid herself with the small fancy detail work with the pearls and gems” said Slendithera, smiling excitedly. 

Venno nodded as she glanced over at her mother, the Voodoo Doll smiling proudly as she watched the model walk back down the runway before disappearing around the corner. 

“Please give it up for these amazing seamstresses who showed their passion and talent tonight by creating such fantastic garmonts!” called the Poodle, inviting all of the seamstresses up on the runway. 

All fifteen of the seamstresses who had made something for the fashion show all walked up on the runway, smiling and waving gratefully as everyone in the audience cheered and gave a round of applause for them. 

Queen Pin smiled as she glanced over at Venno, Slendithera and Rad, the Toxic Sludge and Porcelain Monster both giving her the thumbs up while Venno smiled and nodded. 

“Thank you all for coming to this year’s fashion show. I hope to see you all again next year. For now, though, make sure you all keep an eye out for this coming season’s looks, which will all be made by my fantastic team. Thank you all, and have a great night!” announced the Poodle, concluding the night’s fashion show. 

As everyone got up to leave, some sticking around to speak to some of the seamstresses, most likely family and friends, Venno and her siblings walked over to where their mother was waiting for them.
