The Denial of Love (Story 16 - Part 3)

With Venno: 

The Velociraptor and Anglerfish entered the dance club only to find that the front lobby was mainly empty. 

As they walked through, they found that the large room with the dance floor was filled with more denizens than they thought would be possible. 

It also appeared that everyone was cheering someone on in the center of the crowd, a spotlight shining down on them. 

Confused and curious, Venno and Dexx exchanged glances before shrugging. 

“We may as well see what’s going on” said Dexx, the Anglerfish managing to speak up over the sound of the loud music DJ was playing. 

Venno nodded, the Velociraptor wanting to see as well. 

Managing to make their way through the crowd together, hand in hand, they made it to the center and were both shocked to see who everyone was cheering on. 

It was Keven, the male Velociraptor with who appeared to be the pink Elementimp that they recall seeing as they were leaving the last time they were there. 

The two appeared to be dancing together as if they had done this many times before, the male Velociraptor grabbing the Elementimp’s hand and quickly twirling her around before dipping her. 

Everyone cheered as the song came to an end, allowing the two to smile and stand hand in hand as they quickly took a bow before they began making their way to the bar area. 

“Well, that was interesting to see” said Dexx, having never expected to see the two again. 

Venno nodded, the Velociraptor smiling when she saw that the two appeared genuinely happy. 

“Yeah, but let’s not forget why we’re here” said Venno, the Velociraptor smiling as she returned her attention back to Dexx. 

Dexx chuckled, the Anglerfish smiling as he turned to Venno, about to say something when he was suddenly interrupted. 

“Hey Rapter, I didn’t know you were coming. And you came with your boyfriend” called the familiar voice of DJ, the male Neon quickly spotting the two in the crowd as everyone went back to what they were doing. 

Dexx scowled and crossed his arms, the Anglerfish unhappy about the fact that he was interrupted as the male Neon quickly came down from his DJ booth and made his way towards the two.

“Hey DJ, sorry for dropping in like this. Where’s Roxxane, anyway? She’s normally by your side” asked Venno, the Velociraptor having missed the fact that DJ called Dexx her boyfriend, causing the Anglerfish to smirk slightly when she didn’t make the correction.

DJ shrugged as he smiled. 

“She’s going to be up in her office for a while. Said something about making a few calls. Anyway, it’s great seeing you two again” said DJ, smiling excitedly at the thought of Venno and Dexx visiting. 

Venno smiled and nodded, but then frowned when she quickly looked up at Dexx and saw the annoyed look return in his eyes as glanced away. 

Smirking, Venno nudged Dexx’s arm, causing him to get startled. 

“It’s great seeing you too, DJ, but me and Dexx here have got a date that we’d like to start. He’s leaving a little later tonight, and I’d like to spend a little more time with him before he does” said Venno, Jerry’s plan slipping from her mind, the Velociraptor genuinely excited to spend some time with Dexx. 

Dexx was taken aback by this, but then quickly regained himself and nodded. 

“That’s right. Hope you don’t mind” said Dexx, the Anglerfish managing to keep calm and not show how excited he was.
