The Club's Bounty (Story 11 - Part 2)

The Bounty Hunter Agency: 

With Venno: 

The Velociraptor was sitting in her usual spot at the large, round table with the other Bounty Hunters, waiting for their boss to arrive with the folders. 

Everyone was talking excitedly, some of them speaking about the leaderboard that was on the wall nearby while others were talking about what they were going to do over the weekend. 

Barry, the Wolf Hound, was seated beside Venno like always. His arms were crossed and his tail was swishing from side to side behind his chair. 

It was clear that he and Venno didn’t like each other, but unlike Barry, Venno was ignoring him in favor of glancing over at where the leaderboard was. 

She had been in the Bounty Hunter Agency for a while, but with all of the bounties she had quickly caught over that time, she had managed to make it in third on the leaderboard. 

Her name was just below Barry’s, the Wolf Hound being in second while Jerry’s name was at the very top. 

Venno quickly glanced over at Barry only to see he was glaring at the leaderboard. 

The Velociraptor sighed before perking up at the sound of the doors opening, everyone around the table looking over at seeing the older Spider walking into the room with a stack of folders under his bottom right arm.

Jerry took a seat in his usual spot, the Spider taking a quick puff from his cigar before sighing. 

“Alright, first of all, I’d like to say that there is not much to really talk about for this meeting so go ahead and choose a bounty to hunt” said the older Spider bluntly, sliding the pile of folders until they all stopped at the center of the table like usual. 

Some Bounty Hunters managed to reach over and grab one while others just got up and went to the wall of wanted posters.

Venno was about to get up and head over to the wall of wanted posters, but the Velociraptor stopped herself when she suddenly heard the doors opening once more.

This caused everyone to look over and see Fiona standing at the doorway with another denizen, the Pomeranian smiling nervously. 

“Oh, sorry to interrupt, but this denizen here came to find a Bounty Hunter to help catch someone for him. I thought it would be a good idea to bring him up here while everyone is in the meeting” said Fiona, looking as if she was afraid of what Jerry might say. 

The other denizen, a male Neon, was standing beside Fiona looking as if he wasn’t nervous at all. 

Jerry took a slow puff from his cigar before nodding, gesturing for the denizen to approach. 

“Sure, come over and tell us why you couldn’t just post a bounty for them instead of coming all the way here to tell us” said Jerry, sounding a bit sarcastic and annoyed, but the male Neon didn’t seem to hear the sarcasm. 

Fiona nodded before quickly exiting the meeting room, the Pomeranian deciding to wait just outside the door. 

“Sorry for the interruption, but me and my girlfriend just thought it would be best if we came here instead of posting a bounty” said the male Neon, smiling as he shrugged, walking around the table until he was standing beside Jerry. 

The older Spider sighed in annoyance before nodding in understanding. 

“Alright, whatever you say. Just get on with the explanation” said Jerry, deciding to let the male Neon explain.
