Blind Love (Story 14 - Part 1)

With Venno: 

The Velociraptor was sitting in her usual spot at the large round table, she and the other Bounty Hunters waiting for Jerry to show up to start the meeting before they headed out for another hunt. 

Barry, the Wolf Hound, was seated beside her.

The Velociraptor was falling asleep, having been up a little later the night before than she usually did. 

Barry quickly gave Venno a quick nudge, waking her up, the Velociraptor snarling angrily. 

“What?” asked Venno, a little annoyed as she tried to rub the sleep out of her eyes. 

Barry shrugged before deciding to ask, the Wolf Hound having heard. 

“So your dad finally returned after being MIA from the family for months, huh?” asked Barry, glancing over at two Bounty Hunters who had laughed a little too loud for his liking, his ears going flat against his head for just a second. 

Venno nodded as Barry returned his attention to her, the Velociraptor crossing her arms. 

“Yeah, he admitted that the reason he left was because he felt ashamed for his behavior after I left home. He said he was going to try and do better. He also made friends with a Thunder Falcon creature. I wouldn’t say he’s his pet exactly, more like a loyal friend” said Venno, knowing exactly what Barry was going to ask. 

Barry’s eyes widened a bit when he heard the last part about the Thunder Falcon, but just smiled and shrugged. 

“Wow, I hear you have to earn an Elemental Bird Creature’s trust. Your family also seems to consist of different denizen species. Why IS that?” asked Barry, frowning as he tried to recall the first part before smiling at the second part. 

Venno nodded, the Velociraptor thinking for a moment before smiling.

“You have NO idea how many times we’ve been asked that, especially whenever we go out as a family. Yes, we are related by ‘blood’, in a sense that my siblings and I were born from our mother. We don’t exactly know how it works with Skeletal denizens since…you know…but we do have some similarities. Slendithera and I have the same sort of hair as our mother so it tends to lay a certain way whenever we’re not styling it. Slendithera both have horns on our heads, and Rad and I both have the toxic trait since I can spit toxic venom saliva and Rad is literally made of toxic sludge. It must come from skipped genetics” said Venno as she shrugged, her tail flicking lightly. . 

Barry nodded in understanding. 

“So, your parents are living at your casino, too?” asked Barry, curious to see if they both decided to move in as well. 

Venno shook her head, causing Barry to tilt his head in confusion. 

“No, they’ve gone back to Hellis. They’ll be coming over for visits, so they do still have a room at the casino, though” said Venno. 

Barry nodded in understanding once more before the sound of the doors opening caught everyone’s attention. 

Everyone turned and looked over to see Jerry walking into the room with a pile of folders in his hand, his other hand holding a cigarette and his bottom two arms being crossed. 

Jerry walked over to his chair before sitting down, the Spider taking a quick puff from his cigarette before starting the meeting. 

“Alright everyone, before I start today’s meeting, I’d like to announce that we have a new Bounty Hunter joining the Bounty Hunter Agency” started Jerry, glancing around at everyone around the table.
