The Young Harpy Girl (Story 9 - Part 2)

With Venno: 

The Velociraptor was sitting at her desk, reading through the folder that she had just received not too long ago. 

Despite the bounty being posted by Mr. and Mrs.Harpins, like the last one they did, Venno found herself getting confused the more she read it. 

For starters, the wanted poster had a sketch of what Venno thought may be a little girl or teenage Harpy. It was hard to tell considering she was scowling angrily, as if she didn’t want her face being sketched for the poster, despite all wanted poster pictures being likeness sketches from eyewitness testimony. 

What confused Venno the most, though, was the fact that her last name was Harpins, and that the reason she was wanted was because she had run away. 

Venno sat at her desk debating whether she should go up to Jerry’s office to inform him of the bounty he had given her, but she had seen that he had skimmed through it, even though he actually didn’t and only read who had posted it. 

Deciding not to waste any time, Venno closed the folder and got up from her seat, storing the folder in her backpack before slinging it onto her back. 

Because her short hair had grown a bit longer since moving to Terronto, the ends now resting just over her shoulders, she had decided to also get a new hairstyle to match it. Her bangs were sideswept a little more so that they weren’t covering her right eye. She still tied it up in a ponytail, though, just so it was out of the way.

Walking out of the Bounty Hunter Agency before jumping up, Venno allowed the small jets strapped to her outer thighs to activate and fly her up to the rooftop of the nearby building across the street. 

As she ran across the rooftops of the tall buildings, making her way to the train station to catch the train to Los Hellus, Venno suddenly halted when she spotted what appeared to be a circus tent set up in a park beside the tracks.

There were other tents that were still being set up around the large, main tent, but it was one of the large posters that caught her attention the most. 

Each of the posters featured and introduced the names of each of the performers that were in the circus, and it was the one introducing the five jesters that made Venno do a double take. 

The tallest one was an Inky Jester, her entire body appearing to be made of ink aside from her place colored face. Her legs were digitigrade with claws, and she had two jester hat-like pigtails and a tail that had gold bells on the ends of them. The ends of her long eyelashes also had small balls with stars on them. 

The other two appeared to be twins, a boy and girl and looked like they may be related to the Inky Jester. The boy was wearing a jester hat and matching outfit. The girl had her inky hair tied up in two small pigtails, and she was wearing a pink jester outfit. 

There was also a little Scarecrow boy who was wearing a blue and red jester outfit, similar to the boy Inky Jester, and his face looked like it was drawn with a crayon. 

It was the fifth Jester that caught Venno’s attention, the little Harpy girl. She was wearing a polka dot jester dress with matching leggings, her hair being tied down in two pigtails. 

Venno stood and stared at the poster from her spot on the rooftop before finally shaking her head and regaining herself. 

Quickly taking the wanted poster out of her backpack and taking a look at the sketch of the Harpy girl, Venno glanced between the two before finally coming to the conclusion. 

Harper Harpins had joined the circus and was now one of the jesters. 

Still stunned with her luck, Venno was about to grab her walkie talkie and tell Jerry of the news, but decided against it since the older Spider most likely did not want to be bothered at the moment considering he had to find a temporary replacement Bounty Interrogator before anymore bounties could be brought it for questioning.
